La Roccia Wellness Hotel ★★★★

"(With many apologies to the owners for how long it took us to write this review!) From Marco and Federica, two Italians living in Edinburgh. Me and my wife stayed for 5 nights in the Hotel la Roccia, and honestly, we cannot rate it higher enough. We have traveled many hotels, including ski resorts and 5-star hotels, and the Hotel la Roccia is among the best we have experienced. The atmosphere and furniture are very modern, yet with a feeling of being deeply rooted in the territory: from the wood to the design, everything is a mixture of tradition and contemporary luxury. Luxury, however (at least in our opinion) can be standardized and even unpleasant if it makes you feel too many formalities are required and you cannot properly relax. By contrast, this hotel is family-run, and the constant presence, storytelling, and support of the owners, while never being intrusive, is a touch of warmth that makes luxury feel boutique. We cannot rate high enough the SPA (one of the best we have experienced in a mid-size hotel), the amazing view and proximity to the slopes, the quality of the wine at the bar, the mountain-view gym, and overall the tailored experience we have been offered. Also, our suite was beyond any rosier expectations: huge bathroom and tub, incredibly clean and spacious, with a breathtaking view. We skied, we ate, and yes, we also had to work (given we are academics lucky enough to be working if needed remotely): the spacious room was a pleasure to work within for its silence and coziness, and the sight of the mountains was always there with us. The owners should be proud of what they have achieved in restructuring a family hotel into the future, where everything, from pillows (there is even a pillow choice) to shower gel to wine and products feels not just chosen carefully but curated to the minutiae. As Italians living abroad, we felt this hotel combines all we are missing from our home country, but it has also all the international qualities we came to love by living in Edinburgh. THANKS, and we will definitely come back and try to make of the Hotel la Roccia our go to escape over Easter for the years to come. Marco and Federica"

"We stayed three night to participate in the Marcialonga event. The hotel was excellent with clean rooms, great breakfast and a nice spa in the basement. We had a rental car and were provided with garage parking not far from the hotel. We had two dinners which were very nice, one which had live music that added to the atmosphere. However what stood out was the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel and restaurant staff. Thanks for having us!"

La Roccia Wellness Hotel ★★★★
"The wellness and spa area is relatively small compared to other wellness hotels in the same region. Most importantly, the saunas and steam rooms are only accessible for free after 5pm (before 5pm, you have to pay an extra fee of over 100 EUR), which is totally unacceptable to my mind. The swimming pool, although accessible from 10 am, is so tiny that swimming in it is practically impossible. My room was tiny and in desperate need of refreshing. Products in the room were of poor quality and the shower so small you could hardly turn around in it. Overall, a very disappointing experience and definitely not worth the money. There are much better options in Trentino-Alto Adige (Südtirol)."

"Adorable, charming, and incredible staff. I'm an American who visited here 30 years ago. I can't wait to return and take in the magnificent beauty of the region. The dolomites are spectacular. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone wanting true Northern Italian hospitality and warmth. "

Bio Boutique Hotel Laurino ★★★★
"Extremely disappointing experience – we do not recommend this hotel. Our room was extremely cold throughout our stay. Despite repeatedly asking for the heating to be turned on, nothing changed, and we were literally freezing. Because of this, we had to leave one night earlier and lost a fully prepaid night. We requested compensation, but it was completely refused. The overall atmosphere felt negative and uncomfortable. Four dogs were walking freely around common areas, including the kitchen. The owners live inside the hotel and were constantly present, yet their behaviour felt unfriendly and unwelcoming – no greetings, no kindness, and no willingness to help. We also saw family members taking food from the breakfast buffet and bringing it back into the kitchen. The property itself feels very outdated; for example, the lift is extremely old and only painted over to hide its condition. The most upsetting part happened when we explained why we were leaving early and asked again for compensation. The owner raised her voice and made highly inappropriate and discriminatory comments towards us. This was deeply shocking and unacceptable. We have video evidence recorded by our daughter confirming exactly what was said. Because of the seriousness of this incident, we are considering further legal steps of being ****** against us. We also expect a public apology for the humiliating and discriminatory behaviour we experienced. We left hurt, disappointed, and honestly shocked. Sadly, this hotel has left us with a negative impression of Cavalese as a whole. We absolutely do not recommend this hotel to anyone."
