Property Description
Beautifully decorated ranch style home on a walk out basement located on a private shallow cove of Lookout Shoals Lake. There is nature all around as the cove is home to a Bald Eagle, Blue Herons, turtles, song birds, deer and more. Private dock with shallow water (lake levels vary due to dam activity) and kayaks for your use, on the dock always ready to paddle. Grab a float and paddle out a short way to enjoy a swim, and we have a large floating mat and 10 ft x10 ft inflatable dock to use for swimming out from the dock due to shallow water around the dock. Home has a huge basement game room complete with a genuine arcade Ms. Pacman (multi-game) Arcade Game, 8’ Slate Pool Table, Pop A Shot Basketball game, Air Hockey, Foosball, Darts, Bar, 75" TV, a full bath, kitchenette counter/sink area, seating area with Bernhardt leather sofas, poker table, bar area and 2 doors that walk out to the lower covered patio complete with a 6 person Sundance hot tub spa. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub while taking in the picturesque views of the lake and nature or watching tv on the 65" outdoor tv. This home boasts expansive picturesque views of the private cove of the lake and surrounding natural views from the basement, kitchen, living room, screened porch off main floor, and master bedroom. There are ceiling fans to cool you on both the screen porch and lower patios on hot summer days or when enjoying morning coffee. This 4 bedroom, 3 full bath home is perfect for friends, family or romantic vacations with all seasons in mind. There is a large living room with vaulted ceilings and a wood burning fireplace that leads onto the covered screened porch with seating for dining, relaxing or enjoying your morning coffee, while overlooking the lake. A cozy den with a full sized futon, books and games galore, and an eat in kitchen with seating for 12 with panoramic views of the lake. The kitchen is well appointed with anything you may need for cooking, including a regular and a Keurig pod coffee maker, crock pot, toaster, microwave and glass top range. The sloping lot features 2 expansive paver patios one off the basement area and one with a fire pit and gorgeous lake views and stone steps leading to floating dock for access to the lake. Bring your fishing poles, jet ski or boat for day use (due to the shallow water at our dock it is not guaranteed that the water will remain high enough to dock a boat there during your entire stay so docking overnight is at your own risk). There is also a free public lake access point conveniently located within a few miles of the home so you can easily trailer your boat to the launch in minutes from the home, and take the boat out at the end of the day as needed. Then play or relax your troubles away at this gorgeous lakefront retreat. Location is amazing as the property is located within minutes of I-40 and although the setting is quiet and peaceful, there is shopping, The Rock Barn Spa and Golf Course & Country Club, dining and entertainment options within a 20 minute drive in several directions, as well as hiking, biking and many other outdoor activity options to keep everyone of any age entertained. Have a spa weekend at the Rock Barn or play some golf at their beautiful course which is a 10 minute drive from the house. Take a 10 minute drive and visit the historic Murray’s Mill, a turn-of-the-century gristmill with a 28’ water wheel, complete with the original 1890’s General Store, all nestled along the banks of Balls Creek. Take a day trip to historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC which is a 90 minute drive from the house, or visit Appalachian State University or Tweetsie Railroad, in Boone, NC which is an 80 minute drive from the house. Beautiful Blowing Rock, NC is just a short hour drive from the house as well where hiking, zip lining and adventure courses are available to enjoy, The lake home also features outdoor patio tables and chairs on both levels for dining outdoors if desired. There is a Large 4 burner gas grill available for use off the main level decks. The garage is NOT available or accessible for use during your stay and remains locked. The lakeside of the property is sloped and requires adequate physical condition to navigate (terrain is uneven and lot slopes down toward lake anyone with balance or coordination issues would be advised to avoid these areas or have physical assistance available to navigate) there are natural stone stepping stones, uneven grassy areas, and steps without handrails to navigate outside from either the upper driveway area, or from the back of the house down to the lake. Parents with young children should be advised that they will need to closely supervise small children due to the nature of the property both inside and out. The main floor and living areas are accessible by handicapped individuals. The main living areas are all on one level with one step (no handrail) to enter and exit via the front door. Once inside there is a walk-in shower in the hall bath, and an exterior and enclosed screen porch all accessible from the main level. This home does have exterior ring security cameras in the front and rear of the home and a ring doorbell used for security surveillance monitoring when the home is vacant, to monitor noise levels if there are concerns, and monitor our personal property located on the premises, however, we will ensure your privacy during your stay. Please be assured that there are no interior cameras, and no cameras in the hot tub area. Everything You Could Want We stayed here when my Raleigh-based tennis team made the state tournament and it was exactly what we were looking for: generous and well-appointed accommodations, lots of spots to hang out and socialize, beautiful views, water recreation, etc. We really couldn't have asked for more. As soon as we checked in, I was being congratulated by my friends for finding it. You won't be disappointed.
