This hotel is still under construction- we arrived and there were workers on the roof, inside no elevator until after 5. This morning banging could be heard in 3rd floor(there are 4 floors)- more roof work. Downstairs in breakfast area a sign that said elevator would be Out of order starting at 9- it was 8:40…I asked at the front desk as no signs on or at elevator and she smiled and they should have told us last night, I mentioned some ppl may not be able to physically get their luggage down and she said they will put signs up when she knows what time they are coming. Made no sense at all. It is a safety issue for anyone with a disability to leave a floor higher than first also there were nails out front everywhere which is dangerous as well. The staff is nice but be aware it is under construction.

Now fully renovated but for the pool and spa area, the hotel is now looking like a holiday inn flagship However what continues to set it above everyone else is its staff. Polite and efficient, this hotel runs like clockwork Well located next to the Interstate, it remains a spelling choice year after year

Overall, not a bad stay. I stayed here 3 nights. Pros included seemingly recently renovated rooms, good location close to restaurants and clean with comfortable beds. Cons included the average breakfast, ok service and pool that was under construction for 2 years? Very excessive amount of time IMO. Prices were also a little high. I would probably stay here again, but might look at other options.

Perfectly serviceable Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were clean and nice. I decided to go to the fitness center to work off a heavy meal. They didn’t have much equipment, so I just treadmilled for a half hour, but every five minutes the lights would go off and I’d have to get off the treadmill and walk halfway down the room to trigger the light sensors. Hilarious. They should fix that. The breakfast was actually quite disappointing. It was just sort of bleak with not as many selections as I think HIE usually provides.

Notification of pool area under construction wasn't sent until after reservation was made. Pictures of hotel property outside on website are not the actual property. It is an old building that is being remodeled. Room was remodeled so that was a plus considering they are charging over $200 night at this property.

Construction zone inside and out
There was nothing within the listing that advised that property was under construction and pool was not accessible. I try and stay at holiday inn and pay the higher price for quality and know it’s worth it. This room was higher priced and clearly under construction. There was boxes through property just laying on the floor and around the doors to the rooms and construction/drilling was being done outside our room while we were trying to sleep and housekeeping was trying to come into room around 8am while we were still sleeping. It seems when you book 3rd party they don’t care about complaints because nothing can be done to reimburse or reduce rate when you pay 3rd party but they really should make people aware of the construction and no pool when you have a family because we didn’t have any other option but to stay since we already paid in full
