.Lovely place, location & people! And i agree with Miranda's spot-on review (please read that!). After decades exploroing the Gorge, & my own weeks-long stay recently (Feb\ March of 2022), i can add the following: Owners Darlene & Scott (+even their daughter), together w/their staff (Mgr.Lisa + Rosie & Tom), appreciate you & your individual needs, accommodating you in every way possible. Enjoy grilling out, warming by the fire pit (in the wet or cold seasons) & roasting some marshmellows or smores. The Cascade Motel is more like a community than merely a place to stay. Recharge here, it's like home: They all respect your privacy, & have you feeling like one of the extended family that live at &\or visit to maintain & run the fine property they have. And if you have never visited the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area of Washington State & Oregon, Cascade Locks is its Heart & Soul, right on the Pacific Crest Trail (see film Wild: it concludes right here!), near geological wonders galore, numerous picturesque waterfalls & trails, Mt. Hood, Portland, & Mt. Adams. Everything in town is within close walking distance & you can even hike across the Bridge of the Gods to an interpretive center / museum in Stevenson WA for a wonderfully-curated display of local natural & human history alongside a brilliant photographic slice of Cascadia in photos that include amazing pictures of before & after Mt.St.Helens' eruption (also see the Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument nearby & be inspired by nature's power, beauty & resilience on display there). Have a cooling summer swim off Thunder island, or go hop in a water fall. Visit the grand (& famous) Multnomah Falls nearby, too. Find your bliss here in several ways: Extraordinary landscape photography, hiking, biking, sailing, kiting, windsurfing, paddling, fishing, swimming, or just relaxing & taking the beauty in. Enjoy! Thank you, Lisa & all. Great stay.
