Hotel is fine with moderate service and a so-so location ( not close to the main road)

Nice sleep and breakfast. Parking ok and near airport.

Given the choice of at least 10 Marriott properties in the area, we finally chose this due to its price point, ease of access, and solid reviews. It was a good choice. Room was large and comfortable. Our room was definitely updated recently. It had comfortable sitting area separate from bed. Bathroom was tidy. Shower was newish. All very nice. Lobby is typical. A small bar, a small pool and a decent gym. It is located near several shopping centers with plenty of restaurant choices. A shout out to Net at the front desk for being super sweet and welcoming. Tip: Cooper’s Hawk Wine Bar is nearby, it is upscale and food was amazing.

Spent two nights at Springhill Suites/Grand Rapids and found it to be a comfortable stay. It was the closest hotel to the airport, although not easily walk-able to the airport, but they had free shuttle service, which is why I chose the hotel. I had read several prior reviews indicating the shuttle service, beginning at 4am, was not reliable, but in my case, there were no issues. I was able to call the hotel for an airport pick up, and the shuttle came in 10 minutes to pick me up. I was also able to secure a 4am shuttle to the airport on the morning I left (for a 6am flight). Apparently the shuttle service also picks up from another nearby hotel at 4am – so it was about 4:10 when I got picked up – but I made it to the airport on time without any problems. I did remind staff of my early shuttle need, which is important to do as I am not sure if they regularly come at 4am if no one is needing an early shuttle. Also note the hotel is about 20 min from downtown Grand Rapids, but uber worked well for getting downtown. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is possible to walk from the hotel (about a 1/4 mile) to an area that has several restaurants and big chain stores. There were deer in a wooded area that I saw along the walk, which was lovely to see. The bed in the room I stayed in, was comfortable, the room was clean, the heater worked well, there were black-out curtains, a small fridge, and it was quiet. The breakfast was very basic, without much flavor, but edible. I did ask for a wake-up call at 3am (although I had an alarm), but the call didn’t happen. Fortunately my alarm worked well, so no issues. Overall, I would stay there again with an early flight out of Grand Rapids. Many thanks to all the friendly staff!
