Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge

I love the location of this hotel. It’s my favorite BW hotel ever. The rooms are great. The staff is great and the free breakfast is great. The breakfast room is wonderful or if you want to have breakfast outside, it’s even better seeing the ocean either place.

Ordinary but spacious A very ordinary-looking motel located across from the very busy Carlsbad beach. The room was very large--a suite, really--but plain of decoration and with cranky, difficult-to-control air conditioning. If you are looking for beach access, it's fine, but Carlsbad Blvd has lots of traffic. Fortunately, the hotel has free parking

Good location across from beach and close to town. Run down property. Needs more attention to cleaning. Room was outdated. It was a large room but not well laid out.

Love the location. Staff was great. Was it worth $300 a night…not so much. I’ve stayed at nicer properties for less but overall a good place to stay.

Pro: proximity to the beach which is across the street. Disappointments: the property is dated and borderline run down. The bathroom was dismal, a toilet, a bathtub in a narrow 5x8 space where you need to close the door(that did not latch) before being able to sit on the throne , the cherry on top of this terrible layout is the bathroom sink that you find in the entryway right outside the bathroom door and first thing that jumpat you as you open the bedroom door. Very basic room with a fridge (you hear purring all night, a microwave, a tv and a coffee machine prominently displayed on one a side of the bathroom sink in the entryway. Beds are ok, pillows are somewhat ok. Parking is in stalls under the building for which you have to pay 19 dollars a day to park on the property. The swimming pool comprises the entirety of the central courtyard, around which are passages leading to the rooms. So the noise fromm the pool and from the guests walking about along the passages can be a nuisance. Breakfast is very basic. Front desk staff can be absent for periods of time and guests will find the door to the guest check-in area of the hotel closed!! No note indicating a return time or what to do in case of any need. Terrible and certainly not worth almost 300 dollars a night.

No parking available had to street park, after being told yes there was onsite parking for a small fee. 5 year granddaughter taking a bath I notice a white cream on her face and hair. She says it’s special soap from the tub..? It was caulk that was not dry. Notified the front desk was told “I’ll make a note of it” Room was spacious and a five star breakfast was top notch.
