Etablissement basique mais pas cher, l'accueil y est particulièrement sympathique et chaleureux, ce qui permet de se sentir comme en famille. Tout y est mais on a quand même l'impression de dormir dans une (très petite) baraque de chantier !

The Karbani Inn is a unique lodging. It looks very similar to the many facilities of West Texas and eastern New Mexico for oilfield workers. It is constructed of permanently mounted trailer-type buildings broken up into individual rooms. The room I had had a single bed was quite small and since I needed to bring my bike into the room for safekeeping, it made it even smaller. I was welcomed very warmly by a friendly manager invited to breakfast the next morning highlighted by a breakfast burrito that was made locally. Unfortunately, there was no burrito on the first morning because they were not delivered. The second morning I did enjoy a burrito and a cup of coffee and it was quite good. The room is very clean. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. For the price compared to the very high prices of brand-name motels in Carlsbad, this place certainly is a bargain.

This is an interesting motel built out of a set of trailers. The rooms are a bit small and spartan, but they're perfect for a solo traveler. My room was spotless and had all the basics--a comfy bed, TV, microwave, mini-fridge, ample heating, and a clean bathroom--all for a great price. The manager was very welcoming, and she even gave me a discount since there would be no breakfast in the morning. The location is on the outskirts of Carlsbad, but it's still close to town and just a short drive to the caverns.

I debated between 3 and 4 stars due to my missing breakfast burrito but decided on 4. It was clean and quiet. Sign hard to see from the road in the dark, took us a few tries. My only complaint, we ordered two breakfast burritos for breakfast and when we got there at 8am all burritos were gone. The lady seemed surprised since she made 8 burritos and there were 8 orders. I wasn’t surprised, room numbers were not crossed off when people got their burrito, obviously someone came in and asked for two and were given burritos without checking which room they were in…that is my guess. Good luck devising a way to get your burrito if you order one!

This is a nice place for visiting Carlsbad Caverns. The rooms are small but very clean. The staff we interacted with were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was good and the price was fair. We will stay here again and recommend for single and couples passing through. It seemed very safe and we were not bothered by noise or other guest.

Decided to try the Karbani Inn after reading reviews and wanting an affordable one night stay in Carlsbad. The room in quite small but clean, the bed is comfortable, shower works great, and the breakfast tacos they offer for breakfast are quite tasty. Not sure I'd want to stay more than one night due to the room being so small, but the price is great.

Received a call DAY OF my reservation that they had to cancel my room. I am a solo female traveler and this put me in a very uncomfortable situation trying to scramble and find a new place to stay for the night. Ended up having to pay $50 more for a place to stay that night.

Stayed here Mon Sept 5ᵗʰ for 2 Nts. Sorry it’s taken so long. I’m driving across the US for the next few months, so I will be staying in all sorts of motel/hotels. Looks can be deceiving, the room might be tiny but it’s clean and has the essential, a clean comfy bed, refrigerator, consistent hot shower & excellent welcoming customer service, with a breakfast burrito and coffee/Tea in the morning. The owners live on the premises so extra safe for a solo traveler. Easy access to the Carlsbad Caverns. Thanks

After reading the good reviews, I'm surprised that I had so many problems and was mostly unhappy here. First the good things. It's set back from the highway far enough that my room, which faced the highway, was fairly quiet. The person who worked in the office was friendly and helpful. Between a big bowl of raisin bran and the tasty breakfast burrito, I had food enough to last the morning. I've stayed in very small rooms, including the "pod" rooms that are barely big enough for a narrow mattress. But somehow his small room felt uncomfortable. Especially after a few hours in my room, I craved a regular motel room with space to move. When I arrived, the room smelled bad -- maybe from disinfectant. I opened the window and turned on the bathroom exhaust fan to draw air in. But the window had no screen, so a couple of flies flew in. When I turned down my bed, the sheet was *on top* of the scratchy blanket. So I had to tear the bed apart and remake it with the blanket on top -- which wasn't easy to do because the bed is right next to the wall and doesn't move. (If I'd been traveling with someone who slept next to the wall, they would have to crawl over me to get out of bed.) The WiFi was spotty; both my phone and my laptop sometimes lost the connection. WiFi was much stronger outside the room, so I sat on a bench to use my laptop. There's no nightstand next to the bed. Luckily, on long road trips I pack most of my things in plastic storage crates (they stack well, and they use space efficiently in the car.) Here's a photo of my "nightstand." As the photo shows, the air conditioner is right next to the head of the bed. It's loud, and mine rattled sometimes. Luckily, there's a "constant fan" switch -- which, if you turn it on, the air conditioner won't make sudden on/off noises. Still, it was so loud that I decided to get my sleeping bag from the car -- and use it as a blanket on the bed -- so I could stay warm without the noisy heat. (If this place adds rooms, I'll hope they use a mini-split AC/heater that's both small and almost silent.) The bathroom has a fair amount of floor space. I used some of it to stack my ice chest and my other plastic storage box. There's room underneath the desk if you don't need all that room for sitting. (There was one folding chair.) There are also drawers under the bed, large cabinets under the washbasin, and a shelf inside the top of the closet. So, If you have suitcases and don't mind unpacking them, you can probably set them empty on top of the closet and the microwave. (There's no luggage rack, so you'll unpack on the bed.) There was shampoo but no hair dryer. My closet had only two hangers. You might want to bring both of those. Luckily, there were four electric outlets around the desk area (so I didn't need the heavy duty extension cord and power ***** that I always bring on road trips for places with zero or one outlet). I wake up pretty early, so I missed not having a coffee maker in the room... I had to
