"This is a hotel with over 150 years of history. Located near Cardrona, it doesn't have many amenities, but its aesthetics are exceptional. It has its own garden and restaurant, with vintage-style facilities, yet it's remarkably clean. It was the most satisfying hotel of my New Zealand trip. The restaurant serves dine-in until 11 pm, and the prices are reasonable. We happened to be there on New Year's Eve, and many people specifically came to this restaurant for dinner."

"Wanaka itself isn't a big place, and Haka is considered one of the higher-quality hostels, plus it's very close to the town center. Even during holidays, the cleanliness is consistently good. Unlike the Haka in Queenstown, perhaps because there's more space here, the accommodations are individual buildings, whereas in Queenstown, the entire second floor is dorm rooms. However, there's a gravel path leading up to this Haka, which will definitely test your suitcase wheels! Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk right out to stargaze at night and then quickly hop back into bed."

"The staff here are incredibly nice and welcoming, which we really appreciated. However, the room is quite small, we could barely open two suitcases on the floor at the same time. We also had a very unexpected wake-up call when the fire alarm went off for two hours early in the morning. It turned out the bakery out front overcooked something and triggered the alarm. Despite the tight space and the chaotic morning, the wonderful staff really made a positive impression."
