Perfect experience!!! Very comfortable room - view - Super friendly staff - Restaurants were OUTSTANDING! We had planned on eating out but honestly the chef at the Shipyard and other restaurants was excellent! Staff both at restaurants and pool area were phenomenal. We had perfect weather and just a quiet nice perfect time

This is our fourth stay at this resort. This is a beach front Old Florida motel style resort, that has kept the island’s laid back vibe and amenities despite been beaten hard for the latest tropical storms and hurricanes. Captiva -Sanibel is one of the best beaches in USA. Originally conceived as a bunch of beach front cottages in addition has several two story buildings with cozy rooms, all with balconies facing either the gulf, the bay or the pool. There are some restaurants including the iconic historic Old Captiva House, currently under renovation, snack bar and coffee place place by the pool. There is a nice pool with plenty of chairs, umbrellas and warm towels, and an adjacent serenity no children pool. The resort has Spa, gym and tennis courts. You can rent kayaks and bicycles. There is a full service marina at the property where you can rent boats for fishing or pleasure trips. You can rent umbrellas and chairs by the beach. $25 for an umbrella and two chairs. Our room was super clean, with coffee maker, mini fridge and bathroom a little bit dated but very clean, plenty of towels and toiletries, just what we needed. Cons: sand and gravel roads trough out the resort and parking spaces, while keeping the beach feeling can be muddy and messy when heavy rains, as it happen during our stay and our car was in a flooded area. No elevators in the buildings, is ok for me but could be a deterrent for older or disabled guests, however there is the option of renting a cottage. And the mattress in the room are a too firm. Nevertheless, none of that prevented us of having a great time. This is the third time staying in the beach front block, and the view of the magnificent gulf sunset from our balcony sipping our favorite drink is priceless. Will definitely keep coming.

Captiva island is truly a Wonderful place to stay and have a relaxed time away from the business of life. Loved the quiet beach and the beautiful scenery. The spa offers great massages. We had an 80 minute hot stone couples massage and I followed that with a full manicure and pedicure. The staff is very friendly and the Crow’s Nest Restaurant, the food was super flavorful. We will come back again soon.

This was one of the worst vacation experiences I’ve ever had. To start, the entire “resort” was infested with what they call no-see-ums. My husband was sitting on the front porch of our cottage and immediately felt like he was being electrocuted from so many bites. I was bitten inside the cottage — my legs, arms, and back were covered in small, stinging welts. At first, I had no idea what was happening. (It was not bedbugs.) When I went to the front desk to report the issue, I was handed a can of Raid and told to spray the room myself. Later, we learned that most resorts in the area treat their properties for these pests. We ended up spending around $100 on anti-itch sprays, repellents, and Benadryl just to get through our stay. I spent the remaining two weeks of my vacation with my legs covered in itchy, painful bites. Secondly, while the cottage was reasonably clean upon arrival, we received no housekeeping service for several days until we specifically asked. Even then, towels were simply left at the door — no cleaning was done. The bed linens were poor quality, rough, and covered in small fabric pills. The in-room safe didn’t work, and it took until the third day to get any assistance with that. Additionally, the lights in the master bedroom did not work properly, making the room dark and inconvenient. The food at the bar was also disappointing — stale bagged chips with jarred salsa, cold hamburgers, and old bread. Nothing felt fresh or cared for. When I mentioned all of this at checkout, I was told that a manager named Will Oliver would call me to follow up. That call never came. I have yet to fully review my bill, but I believe I was also overcharged for my stay.

Great October weekend visit. Good old Tweenwaters can’t be beat for location, laid back feel. Facilities took a hit from hurricanes but have been restored very well, especially the dining venues, now located all in one building. The CAPTIVA ISLAND BEACH RESTORATION PROJECT is not done yet, so we weren’t able to walk across the road and use the beach. Tip: If you call the resort and ask staff if the beach will be open during your stay, they will say they don’t know for sure, which is true. Instead ask, “Is the beach open yet?” Or “Is the beach open today?” If the restoration work is still ongoing, don’t freak out. Instead, after you check in, go down to Andy Rossi Lane and rent a golf cart to use during your stay, take golf cart to beach. Take the complimentary kayaks out on the bay, take the complimentary bicycles for a ride. All employees at office, marina, poolside bar, restaurants, were great. We had one meal each at Crows Nest, Shipyard, Olde Captiva House, and each meal was very good.

I love Tween Waters and go at least once a year for a special occasion. This year I stayed here because a relative was getting married on the island. I prepaid with my Visa debit card. When I arrived at the resort upon check-in, I confirmed that it was all paid. I was told by the person taking care of me that they need to put a $50 hold on your card for incidentals or damages. I gave them my American Express card. We checked out the next day on time, with no incidentals or problems to warrant any of the $50 to be deducted. Then we went to lunch at another resort. I paid with my Visa debit card, to my surprise - only to be told there wasn't enough money on it. When I returned home from my trip, I checked the Visa debit card and saw that Tween Waters charged me an extra $52.96 more than what I paid for the room on that card without my knowledge ( the receipt just showed teh amount I thought I was paying - it wasn't until I read the statement that I saw they really took more out than what was on the receipt reading "total" - and the $52.96 was a pre authorized hold for 30 days! First of all, nowhere on the website or receipt did they advertise that they were taking this $50 hold...in my case $2.96 extra...and for 30 days, no less... I probably won't get it back and have to report this to consumer affairs in FL. They took $100 extra from me! I want to "Love Sanibel Back" but I would appreciate the hotel not "scamming" their customers and being transparent. Sadly, the beautiful time I had for the night I stayed was ruined by these "corrupt" practices!

WE stayed at TWEEN WATERS in a waterfront gulf view room. Room was clean and comfortable but not fancy. Sunset was very nice from our private balcony, Resort has 2 pools with a bar and lunch service till 5pm . We ate dinner at SHIPYARD on site Food was very good and its very casual . price is good for resort place Other 2 places at resort are very pricey. Beach is across the street its very nice. We stayed for our 46th aniv because if you booked directly you got 60% off . so we paid $150 instead of $349 . NOT worth $349.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at ‘Tween Waters. It’s not extravagant, the accommodations are modest but clean and very much sufficient to meet our needs and desires. Kayaked with manatees, found 100’s of shells, and overall had a fantastic time.

We are locals and business owners. I stopped at the shipyard this morning and had a wonderful bloody Mary that Jazmine made me. She was very welcoming and told me to come back when my husband was done working. My husband got off work and we tried to pull on the resort at the same spot I pulled in before and it was all barricaded so I went to the main entrance and we're told that we had to have a day pass ($50) in order to come have lunch at the pool bar. Keep in mind that it is going to be raining for the rest of the day and all we wanted to do was have lunch on property as we're not fond of the other restaurants on Captiva. They turned us away and we were very disappointed in this fact. We actually called and spoke to the front desk and they were no more accommodating Than the parking attendant. There was no apology giving or nothing that made us feel welcomed and wanting to come back. It's unfortunate because this used to be such a great spot.
