Residence Hotel la Marsu

We loved this questhouse, food is excellent, accomodation was lovely too, cleaning daily on condition you leave the key at reception, safety for luggage, I left laptop and wallet while away from room and no one touched anything. Great and professional. The beach and the Atlantic is only within 3 min walk, private beach with a nice bar and long chairs. Chef Pierre, Chef Diallo, Chef Ange and Gregoire cooks excellent meals and Soare annd Ana will do anything to entertain you on the beach. Played good volleyball with the staff on the beach. Amazing experience!

We came here for New Year weekend with my family from UK and Gambia. We were treated like second class customers when in fact we took more rooms and paid for more services. Initial welcoming was fine the night we arrived up on till the following morning. My sister can’t have butter and we asked for Mayonnaise for her morning breakfast to have with bread but we got constantly told there’s non when it’s being provided during lunch and dinner for other customers. I saw how a white woman asked for cheese which was finished at the breakfast buffet, one staff member went out to the shops to get this for her. There’s literally a shop next door to the hotel. White customers were treated with full attention and friendliness. We get looks from staff and never initiate to speak to us first. Again, the food is not worth the money. This hotel is the only place we got asked how we wanted our chicken cooked, which was bizarre but still responded “well done”. Tell me why the chicken came in pink and the water has no knowledge about steak cuts. He told us it’s a liver steak but a fillet came out. Very strange hotel. The only plus side is the Manager Kisito was extremely friendly and always made sure we were attended to especially with the room issues we had. We will never be returning to this hotel again and I strongly wouldn’t recommend.
