"Had a lovely 4 nights stay at this hotel. Very clean & perfect location. Rooms had air con, spacious, comfy & clean with a balcony with lovely views. Hair dryer and towels for room/pool provided. No tea or coffee facilities. Breakfast had everything needed. Self service for cereal, toast, bacon, eggs, fruits and more, freshly replenished. Had a car park to the side of the property with lifts to all floors. Roof top pool & sun lounge area was lovely with scenic views. Staff were very friendly & helpful. There is a restaurant but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to eat there due to visiting friends, but wouldn’t have hesitated to visit. Would definitely love to return again one day. Only downside is the air con was a little noisy and it is on a main road so rooms at the front could be noisy early in the morning but didn’t bother us."

"My wife and I booked the Hotel Il Portico in Cannobio directly from May 3rd to May 6th, 2024. The hotel description stated that we could choose a room with a lake view or a room facing the garden. What shocked us upon check-in was the room; it didn't compare to the rooms on the hotel's website. The view was totally disappointing, and it's a disgrace to offer guests such an inferior room. See attached pictures. The view was of the back of a ruin, and there was construction work going on next door. After complaining to the reception staff, we were offered a drink, which we politely declined. After we retrieved our luggage from the room, a gentleman at the reception offered us a meal, which we also declined. This gentleman then wanted us to pay the hotel, which we refused after a loud argument, so we left. In the afternoon, we met two more women who had booked this hotel through ***********. These two also complained about the hotel, saying they had to sleep on a bunk bed. We cannot recommend this hotel in any way, especially since the pictures on the hotel's website don't show everything. They should put these photos on their website, then this hotel would no longer be booked. It was an unreasonable act to offer a room like this, and will continue to be so for other guests in the future. But we think there are always a few guests who put up with this, unfortunately! We can only advise everyone to always complain, because what we experienced here was a complete rip-off. The relaxation value here would have been zero! We did find two hotels that were completely satisfactory to us. These were the 3* Hotel Casa Arizzoli in Cannobio and the Hotel Elvezia in Cannobio. We can highly recommend both of these hotels."

"Just amazing place to stay in Cannobio. Sparkling clean, very helpful staff, and close to the promenade. My wife and I were here for more than 1 week in August 2024 and this was our 9th visit. Why would we return - 9 times - if this were not a grand and lovely place to stay. Cannobio is great, the Lago Maggiore region is great, and you will enhance you visit to the area by staying with Gabri at Appartamenti Ferrari! You will not regret staying here."
