Inn at Silver Maple Farm

This inn is absolutely beautiful with much attention to detail. The innkeepers, Adam & Tara, go above and beyond to insure that your stay is comfortable, relaxing and welcoming. The breakfasts were varied, and delicious, with many choices. The main room with the fireplace was very pleasant. There were snacks available, along with a guest refrigerator, coffee/tea bar, and baked cookies. Guest rooms had comfortable bedding, excellent temperature control, wonderful shower pressure, and the entire inn was immaculately clean and maintained. There is a large parking lot adjacent to the inn. There is a train track across the road from the long entrance driveway that you will hear occasionally. The location is absolutely terrific with Hudson, NY a short drive to the west, and Stockbridge, Lee, and Lenox MA to the east. Don’t forget to check out Chatham, with some nice restaurants and shops.

We enjoyed our first stay two years ago so much we returned for a night to extend a Berkshires vacation. The inn lived up to our memories, a charming place beautifully situated between the Berkshires and the Hudson Vally. The welcome is warm, the breakfast is great, the common room comfortable. On both visits we had wonderful conversations with fellow guests. This is the real deal, not ersatz luxury but genuine comfort.

This is a beautiful inn in a very beautiful part of the country. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was wonderful, the smores at night were adorable, and the staff were really friendly. I enjoyed the outdoor furniture, both shaded and in the sun. Chatham and Lenox are both close (about 20 mins by car), both charming. Our room was small but nicely appointed and the A/C worked great. There was nowhere to put unpacked clothes in our room other than hanging them in the half-size armoire, but we made do. The only real downside for us was the busy shoulder-less road the inn is located on. We had hoped to bicycle to meals, but these conditions meant we had to drive everywhere. This might not be a problem for more intrepid cyclists, or for those who don't mind car travel, but it bothered us, especially at night. Pro tip: if you want daily cleaning service, make sure to request it. One day the staff texted us to see if we needed anything. We didn't, but we didn't realize that was the time to request room cleaning!. We figured that out when we returned! One other tip: we paid extra for access to a local lake. Turns out swimming is limited to a very tiny part of the lake, not enough to swim laps. But then you had to swim through tall unpleasant lakeweed, and tiny fish were biting everyone - not painful but equally unpleasant! Swimmer beware!

We only stayed one night but found this hotel to be very comfortable, beautifully decorated, and with a delicious made to order breakfast. I don't typically like B and B style properties, but this Inn felt more modern. The decor in the room and breakfast area was charming and updated. The loft suite was very spacious and felt completely private.

I came to western Massachusetts to see a concert at Tanglewood and looked for a place to stay nearby that seemed unique and comfy. The property is beautiful and convenient to cool places like Tanglewood and Lenox/Lee/Pittsfield on the Mass side, and the Hudson Valley including cool sites like Art Omi on the NY side. The room and bed were comfy, the common space was very cozy and unique, with tons of snacks and coffee/tea. The hot breakfast was delicious each day (a croissant, egg and bacon sandwich one day and waffles and eggs/sausage the next) and came with a large buffet (the housemade granola is amazing). Tara was very attentive and friendly at breakfast. Also, the handouts outlining cool things to do were really helpful. In addition to the Tanglewood concert, I checked out Art Omi and the Clark Institute based on the recommendations (both incredible) as well as Bluebird and Co for dinner. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place to stay in western MA or the Chatham NY area.
