I can’t understand how this hotel has only positive reviews when I had a terrible experience. We arrived at 1 AM and were given a room with a balcony and a window facing a ventilation shaft – you couldn’t see anything outside except four walls and the sky above. It seems unbelievable that a hotel room could be made like that. Then, there were cockroaches in the room, and the guy at the reception was looking for bug spray to give us. The air conditioning didn’t work, and the hallway smelled strongly of mold. The furniture is old, the bedding hasn’t been changed at all, and cleaning is superficial. Towels are only replaced if you ask for them. The only thing okay was the bathroom and the location of the hotel. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone – full of mold and cockroaches.

Nice hotel, close to the beach, verry clean and for a fair price. Good food, nice and polite people. Definitly a pleasure to come back

Can Picafort town is a lovely place and the hotel location is close (2 minutes walk) to the beach. Nearby there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. There is a decent size lounge area with comfy sofas and tables & chairs which we used on a few occasions. There is also a bar in that area which is serviced by the receptionist during the day and restaurant staff in the evening. The hotel also has a Spa which includes a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi pool. Although it was great to use it, the water jets in the jacuzzi were not working to full capacity. The hotel signs states maximum two users at one time and whilst I was there on my own, four other guests turned up and started using the facilities. There are no hooks to hang towels, bags, clothes, etc so the other guests were using the two chairs for these things. I found the beds soft and uncomfortable (need updating) which meant I didn't sleep properly during my 7 night stay. My friend said the beds were the same in their room. The room was clean. There is a decent size wardrobe with about 10-12 coat hangers - sufficient for myself. Plus the drawers on the bedside tables which is good for tidying things away. All the rooms have a small fridge. Unfortunately, the selection of food and seating in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was limited. On a few occasions guests had to use the lounge area to eat their dinner. The restaurant seating area is indoors with some seating outside but too small to accommodate the hotel guest capacity when the weather is cooler in the morning and evening. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor seating area during breakfast and dinner service times which is not pleasant whilst eating as it permeates into the restaurant. We found the selection of salad and fresh fruit minimal so ended up buying fruit from local shops to top up our intake. However the food on offer at the restaurant all tasted good. If you're going to the beach, the hotel have a store of umbrellas for guests to use, but this is not common knowledge! This is my 4th visit to Can Picafort staying in different hotels including another JS hotel. My friend and I were both disappointed with this JS hotel so will not return to this one.

Fantastic location, hotel a bit tired looking but kept fabulously clean by the staff, we stayed half board, good breakfast, omelette made on request, evening meal can be bit repetitive, but always something to choose from, we ate out several nights which was our choice lots of places to choose from in the area. Plenty of sun beds for all, not sure about summer we stayed late September, loved the resort lots of eating and drinking places.

Please make sure the coach driver on the transfer bus points you in the right direction to the JS Sol as we were left in a spot 100 yards from the Hotel. This was at 11.15 pm. And it was only after enquiring from 4 different hotels that we eventually started trundling our cases in the right direction towards the hotel, arriving there 30 minutes later at 11.45pm. Not a good start to our holiday. Location - brilliant. A stones throw from the beach, shops, bars etc. My husband enjoyed the beer at The Pirates bar at the bottom of the road, and I liked their macchiati coffee - 8 euros for the two. The rooms were serviced every day and were spotlessly clean. Beds are very comfortable. Being such a small hotel, the noise levels were acceptable. Service - wonderful , especially Vera the receptionist. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. These are all the pros - now for the cons. Since it was the end of season there was no entertainment in the hotel. Food - questionable. There was plenty of it and it was varied, but there was a lack of vegetables, and frequently the food was cold. (Get the chef to cook you an omelette at breakfast, or some fish or meat on his hot plate, then you can be sure that your food is hot. ) When I sent a meal back I was told to go and choose some more -but this was just as cold as the original plate of food. Under no circumstances should you accept a room which overlooks the central atrium. We were allocated room no. 217 which was actually an apartment with lounge, bathroom and bedroom. There was no drawer space in the room, just two bedside tables and a wardrobe, but is clean and spacious. B U T the worse was yet to come. As we got into our room after midnight and went straight to bed, it wasn't until the next morning when I opened the shutters in the bedroom that there was no natural light entering the room. There was a wall 6 feet in front of me. Similarly when I opened the curtains in the lounge which led onto the balcony it was surrounded be 3 dirty whitewashed walls, which went right up to the top of the building, filthy window ledges and a huge rusting, decaying air conditioning unit which was right in my eyeline. The electric lights had to be kept on all the time. When I go on holiday I expect to stop somewhere at least equivalent to my own home or better. We did persevere trying to acclimatise ourselves to the electric light during the day but this was a totally unacceptable apartment. After a couple of days we could stand it no longer and complained to Vera at the reception desk. As soon as I mentioned Room no. 217 she knew exactly what I was talking about. She also expressed the opinion that it was a depressing room. However, the hotel was fully booked and another room was not available for another 3 days. Reluctantly, I agreed to hang on. The room we changed to was 310 and was described as a deluxe room at a higher price, but as a gesture of goodwill we would no

Great location a block back from the beach. Near the cafes and restaurants and handy for supermarkets. Always on A/C was a real bonus! The hotel is ‘adults only’ (16+) but the shared pool isn’t. Screaming kids every time we were there. Some having fun (great) but lots overtired and maungy… Breakfast was fine but not great. Overall, we liked the hotel and the staff were absolutely lovely. Good choice for our first Majorca experience. And the island, wow. Go to Palma, Soller, Port de Soller… hire a car and see the Mountain views. Gorgeous!
