Property Description
Recently renovated, A Shore Thing has a gentle, no-steps slope to the main channel shoreline of Cove Creek on Norris Lake. This 2.5-story contemporary lakehouse getaway offers 4 bedrooms (including a huge bunkroom – a favorite with the kids) and 2.5 baths.
The game room features foosball, ping pong, pool table, and an X-box gaming system; dining tables inside and out, an open kitchen, Direct TV and amenities including a firepit, hot tub, free kayaks, and a gas fire table. Dock offers 1 coverd slip, side tie up and 2 jetski ports.
The fully equipped, updated kitchen with granite counters opens to the great room with new gas logs in the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and soaring cathedral ceilings, adjoining the large game room. Enjoy ping pong, a full-sized pool table, foosball, and 4 TVs—three with Direct TV, two with DVD players, and one equipped with a DVD/X-Box gaming system.
Two main-level master bedrooms, each with a queen bed, share a full bath on the main level; there’s a private loft with two queen beds and a half bath, and the basement Bunk Room sleeps 12 in the walk-out lower level (4 twin-over-full bunks), plus a queen sleeper sofa in the lower level.
Outdoor living space includes an expansive shaded side porch overlooking the water, a sunny, full-width lakefront deck, a custom firepit, a huge, full-width lower patio with a gas fire table, and a walk-out covered deck off the main level master bedroom.
A Shore Thing provides a gravel walkway to a swim platform, two jet ski ports, and a two-bay covered dock (note: only one slip is available for rental use as the owner keeps his boat on the lift in the second). There are 3 kayaks available for free with paddles and life jackets for your use. Just minutes from Mountain Lake Marina, which is directly across from the house, making it easy to enjoy a meal on the water.
All 2.5 levels of our home, as well as the deck, patio, and dock are fully accessible to guests, with the exception of two locked storage closets and cleaners cabinet.
Saturday (3 pm) to Saturday (10 am) rentals only during the prime summer season, with a primary minimum renter age of 26. Split firewood is available at the property with advance purchase arrangements (subject to availability and no TVA-posted ban on burning).
Your vehicles are the best way to get around on land—we have parking for approx. 8 vehicles. To navigate the lake, boats and jet skis work best. We also suggest bringing your own paddle boards, kayaks, or tubes to just enjoy floating around.
We have a separate rental agreement that supersedes platform policies to sign upon acceptance, most notably including a no-refund cancellation policy and a minimum reservation age of 26.Additional List of Policies & Rules furnished with Rental Agreement. It is also required that guests purchase a $60 damage protection plan through CSA; additional information provided upon reservation.
Adjoining neighbors are full-time, non-renting residents. Please be courteous and do not disturb after 10 pm; noise policy in effect. Do not block the shared driveway and there is NO PARKING along the shared portion of the driveway as marked.
Smoking is allowed outside only, with all windows closed. Ashtrays are provided for proper disposal.
Group events are allowed on an as-approved basis, subject to the sole discretion of the owner.

Fire burning is limited to the fire pit only and only when there is no burn ban in effect.
Hot tub use is under adult supervision only.
Free kayaks are available for guest use—guests assume liability once unlocked for use.
Locked owner/cleaner storage areas are off-limits to guests.
Off-season rentals have a 2-3 night minimum, depending on holidays/availability.

Very nice house with an easy walk to the water. We enjoyed the hot tub and game room because we had a rain day. The owner warned us and he was correct, bring lots of bumpers for your boat. The dock is in a spot where lots of inconsiderate boaters cut a corner close to shore and make lots of waves.

We had such a wonderful stay at A Shore Thing! Check-In was super easy. The house was clean and comfortable. Terry was quick to respond with our questions. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved playing pool. We rented a boat and that was super fun. The lake was perfect for swimming and we found the cliff jump right around the corner from the house. We enjoyed the fire pit outside and the gas fire near the jacuzzi. So much to do and perfect location on the lake. If ever we are back in Knoxville we will be sure to rent here again!

Had a wonderful stay here with my family! Had a small issue with the fridge when we arrived but the host was very quick to resolve our issue! There is a lot of boat traffic that goes by the dock and they don’t really care to slow down which causes a lot of wake to come into the dock so just be aware of this location wise when booking and planning to dock a personal boat. Overall wonderful stay and would stay again!

Relaxing get away
Had a fantastic, relaxing vacation. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. We used the pool table and ping pong more than I expected. The free use of kayaks was an added bonus! Rented a pontoon boat from the marina across the lake. Paid a small fee to have it delivered directly to the dock. Our college aged kids got TN fishing licenses for the trip and enjoyed fishing off the dock. Loved our stay!

No steps to dock...
Absolutely amazing property but beware...no steps to dock should say no stairs to dock, lol. It is a steep incline both ways and for us out of shape older adults it was a bit rough. lol We found comfort sitting in the hot tub after swimming and climbing back up to the house. We taught the kids to play pool, ping pong and foosball!! We ate in dinner every night and enjoyed a movie night where we introduced the kids to 'The Sandlot!' They loved it!

Had a great time on the Lake, house is beautiful.
House is beautiful! Kitchen is stocked better than my own home. Beds are comfortable, the ice machine was great! Living room is comfortable, and plenty of seating inside and out.
