Tru by Hilton Camillus Syracuse

had a great stay besides at checkout when they didn’t honor my late checkout and i was bothered by 2 employees back to back. will definitely stay here again if i ever need to

Currently staying in 2–3 hotels every week for work, and Hilton remains one of the most consistent brands out there. The Tru properties have become my favorite. While the rooms aren’t oversized, they’re thoughtfully designed—comfortable queen or king beds, plenty of storage, and an open layout that skips the bulky closet but still gives you everything you need. The bathroom is bright and clean with lemon-scented products that are a nice touch. This location didn’t have a pool, but the indoor sports area was unique and fun—especially for families. Breakfast is simple and reliable, just like other Tru properties. Bonus: it’s right next to a Costco. I don’t have a membership, but if you do, it’s incredibly convenient. Overall, this property keeps up with the strong standard I’ve come to expect from Tru by Hilton.

Nice concept, but several kinks to work out. Room had annoying motor noise all night long. Room was not serviced even though I stayed multiple nights. When I arrived, the trash bin in the room had not been emptied and had several used cups and other trash. No hot water in the morning when I was there--it was a repair that needed to be done, but why schedule in the morning when everyone needs to get dressed?

Had loud college aged men in the room next door...loud and banging until 230am. Obnoxious...probably not going to stay again

Overall, this hotel was fine. The property is quite new, and is conveniently located next to a large shopping, dining, and entertainment center (including a Costco and movie theatre). The breakfast itself was very decent and breakfast staff were super helpful. My biggest concern was over the cleanliness of the room itself. There were a lot of crumbs from previous guests visible in the bed frame/along the mattress (gross to think of previous guests eating in bed). The duvet cover (which was white) had obvious filth on it, and when I lifted the mattress up to check for bugs (given all the crumbs) there were unsightly stains all over it, which I found disturbing). I also found that the bedside tables had not been cleaned (and I don’t mean dust), so I cleaned the furniture myself using Lysol wipes that I was lucky enough to have in the car. For these reasons, I did not bother to request housekeeping services during my stay (2 nights).
