Barceló Fuerteventura Castillo

A great relaxing stay for us. We have stayed at the resort before but not at Royal Level which we loved.

We are not usually ones to complain, we just soak it up and then say to one another that we would not go back there again. The Barcelo hotel chain is worldwide and carries a good reputation for being high end. This is why we booked with Barcelo after having viewed one of your hotels while holidaying in Corralejo in October 2023 as we were very impressed. We booked with On the Beach holidays in January 2024 and it has taken us 9 months to pay off the holiday, so we was looking forward to the holiday. I must say our excitement at looking forward to arriving at the resort has been dampened, sadly the resort has not met our expectations. We arrived with our daughter on Wednesday 2nd of October for 10 nights. Our bungalow is clean & tidy and well located. The food on offer in the restaurant is not out of this world and is very repetitive & mundane with no theme nights on offer other than the Mexican & Brazilian restaurants at the Mar which we have used. We have had better food at other All Inclusive hotels that we have stayed in over the years for half of the cost of what we have paid to stay at the Barcelo Castillo. We ate out on Tuesday evening just to break the week up and give us some variety. Which we should not have to do being All Inclusive. The pool area is nice and sunbeds are easy to obtain and the pool side bar is ok in the day time. Unfortunately at night it is not the same and is often quiet and like a ghost town due to having no atmosphere. There no noticeboards around offering advice or letting guests no what entertainment is on. The sports bar is a short distance and their is entertainment here and the ice cream parlour area is nice to sit and relax in the surroundings. But guests should not have to venture to a sister hotel to get the services and entertainment that the Castillo should be providing. We are planning on visiting Corralejo on Friday 11th to again break up the week and offer us an alternative. I would liked to have left our 10 night stay at the Barcelo Castillo saying that was fantastic place & holiday and provided us with the Wow factor, which we would gladly have passed on and recommend the hotel to others, unfortunately this is not the case and we are very disappointed.

We've had the best holiday, we stayed for 10 days and enjoyed as much as we could. Apartment was really nice! The only small negative thing was quite small kitchen, not too good equiped, but we handled. When we had some problem with light or missing cutting board, we wrote via their application and they immidiately sent someone to repair, that was really great and fast solution and respond of the hotel :) As I sport a lot and i'm not a person who is able 10 days to just lay on the beach all day long, i very much appreciated super nice equiped gym for strenght training, classes like pilates, tenis and much more. Beach? Amazing. Food around? Amazing and nice prices, everyone was really nice and when we went for our morning coffee and drink, it is possible to let it write to your room bill so you dont have to pay immidiately. Coffee in La Perlita was really good :) we tried for the first time surfing with Canary surf academy (we've got tip from guy on the reception) and it was awesome. And.... after 12 years of our relationship we got engaged. What else do you want from amazing holiday? :-) definetly reccoment stay at Barcelo Furteventura Castillo! There is supermarket near so you can buy anything you need. And there is many animations program.

Stay here three times a year for many years and have tried all types of accommodation that are available. It is much more peaceful than the larger "Mar" complex but is now getting expensive even though we are "My Barcelo" members. The location is perfect for beach lovers and there are lots of lovely local restaurants and bars to experience - don't bother going All Inclusive unless you have kids.

Location of some of the bungalows have very little privacy, i.e., on the roadside . Self catering has minimal facilities.

The staff were incredible, gave us a very nice experience at every step from the reception, room service, restaurants staff and chefs and the poolside entertainment. The bed was very comfortable but was two singles joined together leaving a gap in the middle of the bed. The food was of good quality especially the amazing omelettes and great bread selections. There were lots of options but lacking in dairy free options with no dairy free yoghurt for example. The tea and coffee was only available in the restaurant at breakfast not at lunch or dinner. Three of our party of 6 do not drink alcohol and we were disappointed to find there were barely any non alcoholic drinks, only fruit juice cocktails, there was just one non-alcoholic beer option. The only non alcoholic spirit, a zero alcohol gin was not included in the all inclusive and was chargeable. Overall a very nice experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the few minor points mentioned above.
