Barceló Fuerteventura Mar

So here are the positives. Myself and my two teenage children had a wonderful week here and all the staff displayed fantastic customer service. The pool and grounds are beautifully kept. The food was nice and fresh each day. Entertainment was fun. Negative points are the run down conditions in 2 of the rooms we had. The first room 7105 I believe it was which is located near the reception area, which was a great room close to everything but there were ants crawling inside the wardrobe which the cleaner did spay a pink cleaning fluid and wiped along the inside of wardrobe wall but the ants were crawling inside the wooden beam adjacent to the wall so I don’t think that helped much, plus I waited hours for her to come and deal with this to the point that I had to go and mention twice that it still hadn’t been done. Anyway I agreed to stay in the room instead of moving and the hotel allowed us for one day only to have premium dining for lunch and dinner instead of basic H/B which we booked, this was as a good will gesture, this premium dining is not worth the money if you’re paying for an extra service as apart from the mussels at lunch time all the other food was in the main restaurant, my son still ate his food from main restaurant so I wouldn’t pay extra for that service, and the mussels were basic too. The food in the main restaurant Tindaya was fresh and delicious with lots of choice. Breakfast was incredibly good, shame there wasn’t a good sausage though. So anyway the next day my daughter filmed a colony of ants crawling inside in a line up the wall near the TV heading towards the air conditioning system. We filmed it. So we did change rooms to the furthest room from reception which was a pain as I have heart problems and chronic nerve damage, I did tell the lady at customer services this and that was the only available room. I did complain about the condition of the rundown room and she said,, “the hotel is 5 years old now”. But that isn’t good enough when you’re paying hundreds upon hundreds of pounds and you work hard for your money. I believe they should keep up with the maintaining of the rooms so you get the rooms they are displaying online other wise they should lower the price to accommodate the condition of the rooms, the drawers were chipped too in the first room, white furniture is now off cream. The towels were very old stained and yucky looking too. I’ve never had towels that old in any other hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I don’t know if I can add a video of all the ants but I’ll try. It’s shame that the rooms let it down. That’s just a few pictures but there were marks and chips everywhere in the furniture. Shower seal was mouldy too in room 7105. Shower was better in room 6139 our second room but still furniture was chipped and damaged.

Decent hotel, average food. They have a trump card though, their host Jhoangel is absolutely fantastic and whatever they’re paying him, it’s not enough! Such a fun and friendly guy

Friends & I spent a week here & enjoyed the holiday - there were issues with my shared room but it wasn’t hotels fault tbh- in all we had 3 rooms the last being right but distance was a problem then - large complex with lovely reception areas .& outside the pool area was good plenty of sunbeds not too many parasols but shady areas were available- the animation team were fun & entertainment was good in the Green Bar - restaurant was spacious & clean & plenty of choice breakfast & dinner - drinks were fair price & most staff were pleasant - the beach is reached by a gate through the garden & there were loungers etc toilet facilities & a bar - a short walk along the prom to the harbour was nice a few restaurants & shops -also close to other part of the complex Castillo area - we liked the area plenty of shops & bars & short transfer from the airport - bedrooms were clean & well kept with good shower room & separate basin area with mirrors & hairdryer - would def go back as enjoyed the holiday as a group

If you want to spend your vacation waiting in lines, this is the right place to go. There are lines for almost everything: breakfast, lunch or dinner, ordering a drink at any bar, or even asking for simple information at reception. There were only two elevators in the area around my room. During the week I was there, in the middle of high season (August), one never worked. As to the rest, it's a very ordinary mega-hotel, neither good nor bad, which won't stay in my memory.

Just returned from a 10 day holiday with our grown up daughters. The rooms were lovely and clean and plenty big enough for us. The air con barely worked in our room 7136 the fridge didn’t get cold enough for my medication to go in which was hard work! Towels and sheets were changed on request and beds made daily. The hotel is immaculately clean and tidy, the reception staff were very friendly (except for the blonde man) he was very rude. Bar staff are working so hard to keep up but the queues were sometimes so so long just waiting for a water sometimes took up to 10 mins. The queue at the green room/entertainment area were also very long in the evening. The entertainment was quite good especially the Whitney tribute, Chelsea Vox! The beach was lovely and a stones throw away. On a few occasions we used the other hotel just a short walk around the bay for a different bit of dinner but it wasn’t that great, not as much seating or choice. The food was okay but repetitive and not always very hot. Great choice of bread at all meal times. The dessert section was always running out and on many evenings we didn’t get to have any. The restaurant staff are very efficient and clear the tables very quickly. The facilities were always clean. We had a nice stay but probably will not go back Caleta de fuste is quite boring not a great deal to do/see. We hired a car for 2 days from ceacar who were Amazing as were the prices!

Beautiful clean friendly hotel, difficult to find fault with our stay for the week, great food and great atmosphere around the hotel. 1 little thing that bugged me was I was with my 12 year old daughter so shop by reception area and of course we bought swimming goggles and rubber ring which lady even pumped up for us so we go try it out by the pool and having fun floating in the pool only to be told by life guard that no floaties allowed!!! Why sell in the shop so. I'd understand if it was in adults only pool but no kids pool.. anyway heads up don't buy a floatie still great holiday
