It’s expensive for a room that looks tired. Bed was good. Stains on wall and in bathroom. Cold tap was warm. Watch out for the £20 carpark fee for an overnight stay. Should be free if you’re staying there. Bar food at the Merlin was below average. Spa treatments were lovely. Pool was ok. Nice short walks around the complex.

The interior of the building, which is more than 300 years old, has been recently renovated. It is a building connected to the Celtic Manor Resort, and the facilities are also shared. I just often hear the sound of the toilet flushing, but if you don't mind, there's really no problem. The breakfast is good, and there are 7 restaurants to choose from in the manor. The products and prices are worth recommending!

Beautiful room, very comfortable and traditional Manor House. Stayed over for one night on graduation day at the ICC and was very close and convenient for a last minute decision to stay over. Really comfortable bed and can’t fault it at all.

I’ve reviewed this hotel previously and have given a high rating. Unfortunately, due to recent experience I have to leave a negative review, the customer service is appalling for a 5* hotel. I booked a meal for a special occasion, due to illness we were unable to attend, I contacted the restaurant and cancelled with my explanation, I received an email from the hotel to confirm cancellation. The next day I was charged £40, now if I had not cancelled I could understand the charge, but considering I consider myself to be a loyal longstanding customer which has spent plenty of money at this resort over the years I find their attitude to be abhorrent! I have contacted the hotel on 3 separate occasions and no one gets back to you, you are just ignored. I and my family have decided to no longer use the establishment which is disappointing, but the service is clearly not what I would expect!

The general hotel venue is nice, charming and intimate feeling, but it’s all tired and dated, the layout is baffling, the service is average, the car park is remote and hard to find. I rarely write a bad review but this really disappointed me.

I booked my stay as a treat but felt as though I'd been tricked. The Celtic Manor House is the poor old neglected older sister of the Celtic Manor Resort. I stayed in room 117 (avoid it). I wish I had looked at previous reviews. The hotel isn't just tired, it's neglected, and judging by previous reviews they have no intention of repairing or updating it. My room was tatty with a dirty bathroom. Wallpapers was peeling off the walls and in other areas it was filthy. Broken towel rail and tap fixtures. Old grime around the shower and the best bit ...black gaffa tape holding the carpet together! When I first complained, they asked me to book again and they would give me 20% off! Why on earth would they suggest YOU pay so they can fix the issue? Eventually after having to haggle, I got 40%. They didn't even get my name right when replying to my email. There was a suggestion of me raising issues sooner. My answer to that is - I shouldn't have to, you knew about the issues when you booked out the room. The breakfast was alright but nothing special . The main resort is quite a walk and if you get a room on the first floor, there isn't a lift, they didn't mention that when booking. They take a deposit of £50 for 'any issues'. There are plenty of issues, but none of them due to the guest! I urge you not to consider this hotel. I've stayed in better budget hotels. The customer service was poor and they really don't care if you make a complaint. They are totally dining out on the Celtic Manor Resort name...which honestly...is overrated anyway.

We were celerbrating my mothers 50th birthday...we used the spar and had our evening meal at Rafters. Both venues were excellent...When we got to our room 309 we found 6 dirty empty glasses out side our door..We found our room clean except for a few cobwebs and a couple of spiders....We had no water in our room, we went down to reception and was told someone would bring some up but I had to go down again and still no water was delivered. When we returned back to our room about 11pm I phoned reception asking for water was told we would have to pay for it... I explained it would be OK as my partner was pregnant and wanted water. It took almost 1 hour to be delivered to out room due to the time we waited there was no charge. We had breakfast in Pod the food waz really good.
