"I ended up here after walking away from a bad situation and I needed a place to get my head together. I initially arrived for one night and ended up staying four! I stayed one night in Kibale, a double room which was lovely and then moved to a suite for 3 nights. The hot water was wonderful, everything was clean, and comfortable. Staff were just lovely! Owner Helen and her husband were really friendly even though busy. Food is amazing. Chocolate Mousse (thank you Helen) was just the best. The ice cream was the best I have had after 20 years in Africa!!! The chef makes mean poached eggs too. Just go, it's perfect, it's a lovely place to be, everything is there a few minutes away, the bank, supermarkets and everything you need. The four season pizza was really good too. Just so many good things to say about this place and nothing negative at all!!!!"

Chimpundu Lodge ★★★★

"Absolutely the best place we stayed in Uganda! Chimpundu Lodge was by far the highlight of all our accommodation in Uganda – we only wish we had booked an extra night. The staff could not have done more for us; from the moment we arrived, reception helped prepare us for our chimpanzee trek with great advice and the warmest smiles. The bar staff kept the drinks flowing (with two complimentary beers and wines each day) and were just as friendly. Dinner was incredible – fresh, delicious, with plenty of choice – if anything we were overfed! The lodge itself is stunning, with beautiful grounds where we spotted colobus and red-tailed monkeys right from our balcony. Our room was gorgeous, with a wrap-around balcony and a huge clawfoot bath I happily took advantage of. The location couldn’t be better – less than a 5-minute drive from the chimpanzee trekking area in Kibale Forest. Truly the best place we stayed in Uganda and one we would return to in a heartbeat. Also a note it was a little cooler in the evening when we visited and there was hot water bottles in the bed at night which was so lovely! Not actually needed due to the lovely covers on the bed but such a nice touch"

"Came here with my family to eat, 13:20 h, lunch time. The kids wanted burger, the main reason we came here. Upon ordering we were told that there are no burgers because there are no buns. Apparently no one has the idea that people want to eat burgers for lunch and to organize buns in the supermarket, to make some, or to substitute them with toast or rolls. We were also told that there is no goat meat. We ordered three pizzas. Once the waiter returned from the kitchen, he informed us that they need to make fire in the wood oven and pizzas will take some time, one hour . Let’s see how long it really takes. Why would anyone have pizza? Other than that it’s good to see that staff are enjoying themselves."

Little Monkey Camp ★

"Fantastic place at Kibale forest!!! This lodge is really unique and offers a chilled atmosphere after chimp trekking or something else. It is small and guests are treated like kings or queens. Peter, the owner, is so lovely and helpful. The location overlooking the forest offers a stunning view on each side. The cottages are lovely decorated with a very unique touch and extremely clean. Do not forget to try lunch or dinner - the food is really amazing - definitely star level!!!! We really felt like home."
