We went over Labor Day weekend 2025. To start we knew we would be arrive late on Friday and the Inn didn’t hesitate to give us everything we needed for a late check in. The room was clean, staff were friendly and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful! We loved the convenience of having everything on site (restaurant, water activities, pool). We look forward to visiting again!

We came across the Inn at Pamlico Sound on a spontaneous getaway over labor day weekend. By chance there would be one room left at the Inn. We arrived to a quaint tucked away property just off highway 12. After a warm welcome by the owner, he showed us to the best room on the property, "The Primrose". The room was inclusive of all required amenities, fine linens, 24/7 professional staff, amazing breakfast and award winning dining! Water toys, bicycles, amazing sunsets and water views. I highly recommend staying here! Beautiful venue!

Felt like royalty in the king Magnolia room! Easy and excellent check in process. Room was beautiful and bed was exceptionally comfortable! Relaxing experience from first moment to the last. Loved the complimentary breakfast the next morning and convenient coffee station. Wished we were there longer than one night. Oh and the view was spectacular! Best lodging experience of our trip!

Stayed a few days but would have liked a longer stay. This Inn is just wonderful. We had a corner room with covered balcony. Perfect in hot weather and rainy. So relaxing. The decor was lovely down to the fresh flowers in the seating area as you entered our building. We did not use the pool or other amenities as we went out sight seeing daily. Perhaps next time. Convenient to have the restaurant right there (see separate review). Quiet, comfortable- perfect for relaxing and sleeping. Very clean! Sightseeing from here - easy and the beaches. Lovely grounds as well. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful experience at this quaint, custom inn on the sound. Hosts were wonderful; put us into a secluded room with a balcony (with rocking chairs!). Dinner and breakfast were amazing! Wait staff were friendly and professional. Walkway to pier gave an incredible view of crabs and fish. Highly recommend this enchanting establishment!

We try to make it to the outer banks at least once a year and sometimes twice. The Inn On Pamlico Sound is a wonderful getaway. Even if the weather turns and you get rain, everything to be comfortable is right there. Gourmet cooking, the sound of the sea, and beautiful views. The staff is basically long term and is housed on site. I've never seen this done at a smaller venue. It means that the service is REALLY good and the staff all know their jobs to perfection. Breakfast is anything you want off the wonderful full menu. Afternoon fresh cookies, coffee outside the room in the morning, full size refrigerator available outside your room. Be sure to make reservations for all meals as the cafe is popular with the locals!

Our stay was only one night on our way through the Outer Banks. I chose IOPS because of its boutique size, waterfront & previously read positive reviews. We were not disappointed. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, overly ready to help us, & made us feel at home. The view of Pamlico Sound from our room was breathtaking, & truly gave us the relaxation we needed from family & home commitments. We purposely chose to have dinner at IOPS because of the reviews. It was nice to walk downstairs & have a 5 star meal. Wait staff was attentive, chef creations were awesome & choices available difficult to maneuver! Portions are quite large. The Inn on Pamlico Sound will stay on our radar for future planning & recommendations to our friends & neighbors!

Even though the weather was horrible, the setting made up for it as did the accommodations. Breakfast was so good and every staff person we met was proactive to meet our needs, from the comped room, the cafe staff who cleared a table so we could sit window side, to a housekeeper who asked if we needed ice.
