Property Description
The Pearle Hotel and Spa, whose name pays homage to the family matriarch, Grandmother Pearle, is a luxury hotel located in historic downtown Burlington in Ontario, Canada. The exquisite 151-room hotel is reminiscent of the lake houses of the past where Pearle spent most of her summers. Elegant and free from formality, the hotel embodies the spirit of hospitality. Situated on the Burlington waterfront with Lake Ontario as its backdrop, The Pearle Hotel and Spa features thoughtfully appointed guestrooms and suites, some of which include terraces or balconies, expansive meeting and event space, two locally infused dining facilities and a luxurious spa. The hotel’s interior is inspired by the seasons in Ontario, designed to be lavish and modern, but made from natural products and raw materials, including white oak paneling throughout. The magnificent spiral staircase is one of many signature design elements and takes center stage in the hotel’s lobby. Discover genuine and thoughtful hospitality at The Pearle.

While the hotel is lovely, location is wonderful and scenic — service was unfortunately very generic and corporate feeling. Being a luxury Marriot elite property, I expected better room upkeep and more attention to providing exceptional customer service. My premium lakefront terrace room was stunning and impressive. The terrace was incredible and certainly makes a difference. The room was airy, clean and spacious, yet I was surprised how their were a lot of upkeep gaps, floors looking rough, stains and scuff marks all over the walls, stains on the furniture etc. This hotel is only a few years old, and its already starting to look a bit worn and tired, yikes! For a luxury Marriot Hotel, surely the hotel could do some room maintenance and upkeep during the slower (winter) months. The rooms were beautiful, and the spa/pool facilities were luxurious. Front desk staff and management seemed less than friendly nor wanting to go above-and-beyond. For example, when mentioning prior to my stay and at check-in that it was a special occasion visit — the only thing the hotel did offer was a generic chocolate bar. Surely, Marriot can do better for a duo birthday celebration stay? When mentioning about the room upkeep issues, front desk were very dismissive and even seemed annoyed. When mentioning issues I had with my room service breakfast (food was cold), the front desk manager was extremely reluctant to compensate for the breakfast, and seemed cold and that my feedback was of a inconvenience to them. These customer service gaps were really disappointing for a luxury Marriot elite property. Such a shame as the folks in the cafe and spa were the total opposite, friendly, welcoming and genuine. At times it felt like I was staying at two different hotels (Best Western vs. the Ritz-Carlton), yet I obviously was not. I hope that the front desk team at the Pearle Hotel can regain a sense of compassion, genuine friendliness and the desire to go above-and-beyond for ALL their guests (not just for their wedding guests). As it's clearly a stunning property, with very lovely rooms, a gorgeous spa and pool, and of course it's spectacular waterfront location.

Stayed for the weekend while visiting friends and family. All of the amenities were 5 star (lovely indoor outdoor restaurant with amazing views and incredible service (thanks Sam!), coffee shop; the fast and delish (try the power cookie), and the front desk very helpful. The rooms were well appointed and beds very comfortable. Will stay again.

I stayed for business for one night at The Pearle which is part of the Autograph Collection. The lobby is quite stunning with its curved white staircase and a myriad of hanging lights atop the reception area. I stayed in the most basic room, the Studio King but still enjoyed it very much. When checking in, I asked reception to find me a room on a high floor with the best view available. I was very lucky that I was put on the top floor in a corner suite, with a partial view of the lake and city. This was thanks to a very pleasant staff at reception named Bianca. I didn't get the opportunity to thank her as I didn't see her again, but I'll thank her here and hopefully she is made aware of her wonderful customer service. The room itself is very modern and you can see that it was designed with much thought and detail. For example, there were two sets of curtains, but each time I wanted to either open or close them, all I had to do was give it a little tug in the direction I wanted it to go and then it did its magic. On each side of the bed, there were motion sensor night lights, which is especially helpful when waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The rain shower was very high and the water came down wonderfully like a waterfall. It was a luxurious shower experience. Even the glass cup that was in the bathroom was intricately designed. Overall I was very pleased with the design and functionality of the room. The room also included a little tablet for the guest to use. It had a bunch of iheart radio stations from across North America and the tablet can be used for internet. There was no bottled water in the room or in the fridge but there is an ice & water station in the hallway. I'd definitely come back to The Pearle again to explore the downtown Burlington more and also take some time to enjoy the hotel's amenities. Would love to try out the spa and restaurant!

Been coming here for a few years and it never disappoints. The building, facilities, rooms, the staff. Cassie and Christine at the desk were so kind when I had an issue with my credit card at check in. All the valet are so kind, especially Francisco who we have gotten to know. The food is great in either Isabelle’s or Pearle’s Cafe. Spa is my favourite in the GTA. Absolutely love this property. A Shaw stayed over July 1

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I have never written a review before but my daughters recommended I do and share my experience. I attended a wedding at The Pearl this past Friday. While I’ve visited the venue several times before and have always admired its breathtaking views, elegant ambiance, and relaxing café, this most recent experience left me truly disappointed and frankly, shocked. Let me begin with the few positives. The valet team deserves genuine praise. I requested my car multiple times throughout the evening, and each time they responded with patience and professionalism. They were one of the only teams that felt like they belonged at a venue of this supposed caliber. Unfortunately, everything else about the experience was appalling. To start, the wedding planner who looked like a young Anne Murray mid 50’s I would say behavior was unbelievably unprofessional. I had simply asked where my niece’s room was so I could surprise her before the ceremony. Without hesitation or courtesy, she snapped, “figure it out at the front desk.” I was stunned. Is that really how The Pearl allows its staff to speak to guests on a wedding day, no less? At the front desk, things somehow got worse. I approached the concierge to pay for parking and calmly asked if I could get a bottle of water. She refused, stating that I wasn’t an overnight guest. When I expressed surprise, she went so far as to suggest I come back on a weekday because rates would be cheaper. I wasn’t asking for a complimentary stay I just wanted a bottle of water. I asked to speak with a manager, and she replied, “You can do whatever you want.” That’s the hospitality standard at this so called luxury hotel? When a manager finally arrived someone who seemed quite young, her name begins with the letter D, I explained everything including the wedding planner’s rudeness, the concierge’s refusal, and the overall tone I was being met with. Her response? “We’re very busy and can’t hold up the line. Come back another day if you want to talk further.” No apology. No accountability. Just more dismissiveness. When I pressed the issue, she accused me of sounding “privileged.” I was shocked not just by her lack of professionalism, but by the sheer disregard for guest experience and basic courtesy. I’ve spent money at The Pearl before at the restaurant, and events and always appreciated its beauty. But after being dismissed, degraded, and outright disrespected, I will never return. And I’ll make sure others know what to expect if they choose to visit. The unfortunate thing is that I don’t live very far. Shame on The Pearl for allowing such poor treatment to overshadow what should have been a joyful and memorable occasion for our entire family.

Overall the nicest hotel we have stayed at in and around the city including downtown Toronto. The location is great, views of the lake are tremendous and neighbour offers lots to eat and drink with live entertainment and patios. The rooms were very clean, the coffee shop was incredible. Most noticeable was when you asked any member of the staff a question they stopped what they were doing and looked you in eye as they answered your question. The pool was beautiful and would love to try the spa. Hotel bar provided great service, great views and great cocktails.
