Our family has travelled to various Marriott and non-Marriott properties around the world. To give this review some context, we have stayed at properties such as the New York City Marriott Marquis, the JW Marriott Desert Springs and Spa in Palm Springs, the Glam Hotel in Via Nazionale (Rome), the Grand Wailea in Maui (Hawaii), the Shangri-la (Toronto) etc. This particular property quickly became one of our family’s top 3 world wide properties due to its unparalleled service, its attention to detail both architecturally and with respect to property aesthetics and cleanliness, and finally due to its room size and views. I would first like to highlight our check-in experience and overall service experience. As Marriott Titanium elite members, we expect a high level of service at all Marriott properties. This property, however, went above and beyond our expectations service-wise. The team member who stood out most at this location was Gurpreet, who checked us in, and was a world class hospitality front desk team member. She was warm, kind and efficient during all of our interactions. During our multi-day stay at the Pearle, she addressed all of us several times by name and went above and beyond to ensure we would have a comfortable stay. She also recommended points of interest, addressed our questions about the spa and any other questions we may have had about the restaurants on property and surrounding area. It was actually due to our experience with Gurpreet that we decided to extend our stay at the Pearle and cancel our reso with the St Regis (Toronto) for the last half of our stay in Ontario. Thank you Gurpreet for your professionalism and kindness! In addition, the property is new and its asthetics are modern yet comfortable. We enjoyed the oversized balcony (almost the same size as the room) with views of Lake Ontario. It is truly a luxurious property - both in the common spaces and in room experience - the housekeeping staff kept our room immaculate during our stay. A note- the bedding and the bed were super comfortable. Finally, the manager at “Isabelle”(the restaurant at the hotel) who was named Maeghan, addressed the only oversight at the property - which was due to a service oversight (our table was forgotten for 30mins after we were seated). Maeghan was able to turn around and change what could have left a sour taste in our mouths as soon as we brought up the oversight to her attention. A new server, Sonja, was assigned to our table, and was fantastic! The food and drinks were also on point, and lived up to the restaurant ratings. Thank you again to the entire Pearle team. We look forward to returning to this world class property soon.

While the hotel is lovely, location is wonderful and scenic — service was unfortunately very generic and corporate feeling. Being a luxury Marriot elite property, I expected better room upkeep and more attention to providing exceptional customer service. My premium lakefront terrace room was stunning and impressive. The terrace was incredible and certainly makes a difference. The room was airy, clean and spacious, yet I was surprised how their were a lot of upkeep gaps, floors looking rough, stains and scuff marks all over the walls, stains on the furniture etc. This hotel is only a few years old, and its already starting to look a bit worn and tired, yikes! For a luxury Marriot Hotel, surely the hotel could do some room maintenance and upkeep during the slower (winter) months. The rooms were beautiful, and the spa/pool facilities were luxurious. Front desk staff and management seemed less than friendly nor wanting to go above-and-beyond. For example, when mentioning prior to my stay and at check-in that it was a special occasion visit — the only thing the hotel did offer was a generic chocolate bar. Surely, Marriot can do better for a duo birthday celebration stay? When mentioning about the room upkeep issues, front desk were very dismissive and even seemed annoyed. When mentioning issues I had with my room service breakfast (food was cold), the front desk manager was extremely reluctant to compensate for the breakfast, and seemed cold and that my feedback was of a inconvenience to them. These customer service gaps were really disappointing for a luxury Marriot elite property. Such a shame as the folks in the cafe and spa were the total opposite, friendly, welcoming and genuine. At times it felt like I was staying at two different hotels (Best Western vs. the Ritz-Carlton), yet I obviously was not. I hope that the front desk team at the Pearle Hotel can regain a sense of compassion, genuine friendliness and the desire to go above-and-beyond for ALL their guests (not just for their wedding guests). As it's clearly a stunning property, with very lovely rooms, a gorgeous spa and pool, and of course it's spectacular waterfront location.

Stayed for the weekend while visiting friends and family. All of the amenities were 5 star (lovely indoor outdoor restaurant with amazing views and incredible service (thanks Sam!), coffee shop; the fast and delish (try the power cookie), and the front desk very helpful. The rooms were well appointed and beds very comfortable. Will stay again.
