We just had an overnight stay at Leeds Castle. The staff as always were great! Always helpful and attentive! We stayed in the Stable courtyard B&B and the room was nice with a lovely view and a really good shower. It was so peaceful there (after the day trippers had gone).

The big problem here isn't so much the quality and comfort of the rooms. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and clean. The problem lies with the catering setup. I booked two nights with dinner. The menu was the same two nights running. Supplements payable on most dishes. The waiting staff could do with a bit of training, some of them tried their best but it was clear the restaurant management didn't really care. With regards to breakfast, probably best sticking to toast. Cold 'Full English', scrambled eggs looked like they'd been cooked and left in the pan for a couple of hours. Be careful of their toasting machine, the slices take off as they reach the bottom of the machine. It's like trying to catch Eddy the Eagle. It might be worth Leeds Castle Stable Courtyard looking into their catering arrangements if they want to improve people's stay.

Stayed for 2 nights as a birthday surprise for my husband. At check in we were greeted with by a very friendly helpful lady who gave us all the information needed regarding our stay. Our room (Kent) was very clean & overlooked the courtyard which could get very noisy with groups of student at tables directly below our room, luckily they moved on fairly quickly. Our other gripe was in the evening there was a very bright light outside our window which was on all night. A blackout roller blind behind the curtains would be a good idea maybe? I was going to mention this at checkout but there was a queue behind me so I didn't. The bar/restaurant staff we found were not very friendly apart from a young lad at breakfast both mornings. Very friendly helpful chap at the little train & also a chap within the castle. Overall a nice stay but probably one night would be enough if we were to return

A great overnight stay in a courtyard lodge. All the staff at Leeds Castle, the reception team, bar staff and grounds staff are exceptionally polite and helpful here. We got a great deal, real clue for money. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean with comfortable bed and a grest bath. Restaurant is good and breakfast delicious . Views of castle are fantastic. A peaceful beautiful location

We enjoy staying at unique properties and Leeds Castle did not disappoint! Staying here gets you after hours access to the beautiful grounds and the castle during operating hours. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our room was clean and had a great view of the garden. A lovely full English breakfast was included at the restaurant on the property. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed in a courtyard cottage for one night so that we could also visit the whole site including the castle on the next day. If you book an overnight stay then this includes admission to the site and castle. The overall 'bundled' package is good value given that if you just visited the place on a day trip it would cost two people well over £60. We had an evening meal in the restaurant on the day we arrived as there was no time to do much else with the site closing down at around 5 pm. But that was no problem as we had planned to see the site and castle after we checked out the following morning. It was rather special being able to wander around the site that evening after it had closed to the public especially as it had been a lovely day and the sunset showed off the castle well. The meal was rather expensive but the quality was excellent and genuinely offered 'fine dining'. The breakfast the next day was also excellent with plenty of choice. This was after we had enjoyed a really comfortable night in a luxurious room (Fairbanks) with a particularly good en-suite including a bath and massive walk in shower. After we checked out in the morning we wandered across to visit the castle only to be confronted by hoards of people in coach parties of up to 50 that just overwhelmed the building even with the staff managing the flow. More than one member of staff told us that party bookings were the 'bread and butter' of their income. Well sorry folks but this was news to us and even though these were pre-booked parties nobody on the accommodation side thought to warn us. We eventually got to tour the castle in relative comfort at 3 pm after all the school and tourist parties had left. So 'be warned' about visiting the castle and coach parties. They just don't work with couples and small groups of visitors. No effort is made to segregate the two different visitor groups by, for example, keeping time slots for just the larger groups. Even the National Trust knows how to manage numbers in their various properties! Don't be put off though; it's a good place to stay and visit but be prepared to choose your time slot carefully.
