Ruxley Rooms

"My husband and I booked into Ruxley Rooms in July 2022 for 8 days. The room was abysmal, classed as a "double room" it was barely 9 feet by 10 feet. It was cramped, dirty and it smelled. There were no towels, no hot water, no wi-fi, no breakfast, all which were advertised as available. The staff were of no use whatsoever. When we complained the "manager" said, quote: "Well, there's a double bed!" Getting out of the room had to be negotiated as the door scraped the corner of the bed. Luckily we did not bring our suitcases into the room because there simple WAS no room to put them ANYWHERE! When we complained there was no hot water the manager said, (again a direct quote): "The whole building is without hot water!" As if this was a satisfactory explanation. Because of the late hour we were forced to stay the night. We left first thing in the morning. Nor were we able to secure a refund despite the atrocious conditions and the blatant fraudulent claims about the "hotels" amenities. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!"

"Room 10 is very compact if two in room. Room was very clean Breakfast very good Good parking The Easter Sunday we stayed there was a hell if a lot of music noise and shouting coming from the packed bars and beer garden until 11pm. Didn’t get to sleep till midnight as people from the pub were outside the front waiting for taxis."

"To all the travelers please don’t go to this place ! It’s a total fraud the photos shown on the websites are totally deluded it’s not modern it uses the most low quality materials and worst of all it’s filthy! The carpet was totally dirty stained with burned marks of cigarette! I booked a non smoking room and was given a room with an intense smell of cigarettes! Just disgusting I have requested the reception to give me another room and they respond they were fully booked . I had to find another place last minute had to pay loads of money for that because it was last minute requested refund and the manager only replied 2 days later saying that refund was impossible as I had booked a non refundable policy! Please stay away of these place !!!the manager only cares about money and zero care about the customers"

"New to me the self check in which was easy to navigate. Staff on hand in case of any problems. Staff pleasant and helpful as always. Room clean and spacious. Tea and coffee facilities in room, which you can top up yourself from a stand in reception. Bed comfortable. Close to all amenities."
