We arrived a few hours earlier at the Huntsman than expected and the staff and manager couldn't have been more helpful .We asked if it'd be ok to leave our bags while we looked around Brockenhurst??." No problems ,we'll get your room ready for you right away". a quick coffee and we were in earlier than expected. The room ," Quail", was very comfortable and tucked away within a nice little courtyard shared by a few others. Throughout our stay the staff were very helpful..the food was very good and all central to the Joy's of brockenhurst and the surrounding forest.. ..hopefully,next year will be our third stay at the Huntsman!? Absolutely recommended!

This hotel is convenient for the centre of Brockenhurst and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The garden is very nice but needs a bit of work removing some of the brambles, particularly adjacent to the road. We had a few pleasant drinks in the garden but didn't eat here, though the menu looked good. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were surprised to find a four-poster bed but it could have been a little bigger. The only problem was the bill at the end - it is a good job I had printed-out the LateRooms booking. On LateRooms the two nights were each priced slightly differently (£89 and £93.95) and the total should have been £182.95 but the pre-prepared bill at reception on leaving was 'Best Available Rate Bed & Breakfast' at £99.95 per night. There was no problem in having the bill corrected but only because I had brought my confirmation with me.

Really disappointed with the Summer Set menu. I’m a vegetarian so opted for The tomato salad, tasted ok but was literally quartered toms with a dressing. Main was Halloumi salad with toasted chickpeas. Didn’t really know what to expect but this was a bowl of leaves with two slices of Halloumi and chickpeas that were like bullets. No dressing or real presentation, halloumi had burnt bits on the side. Both items should be taken off the menu or the recipe should be rewritten. Drinks were nice.

This is our 3rd stay here. Different room each time. All very comfy. Breakfast is delicious and their dinner menu is worth a go Friendly staff And near the train station. Sonic you don’t have a car perfect and near to some amazing walks
