Better than expected, poor spa, good flat & locale Having read some reviews I expected this to be more run down than it was. It was actually very good for the money. Linen was provided free of charge, as were cleaning items for the flat and enough plates, cutlery and kitchen items, which some reviews had said were either extra or not available, but I believe towels were extra (we bought our own). Staff were helpful, place was very well located next to the lift and a 5 minute walk to the supermarket. There is underground parking, but it’s height restricted; we had a 4x4 with a top box, so no good. But there was free parking outside in a car park 10 minutes walk away. The one downside was the spa; the jacuzzi was not very warm, the Turkish hamman very noisy and the sauna broken, which judging by previous reviews hasn’t been fixed for over a year! So don’t go for the spa, but everything else was pretty good. If you are on a budget holiday it’s great and Serre Chevalier is one of my new favourite places!

The good side of the residence is the location, as it is located in the immediate vicinity of the ski resort. We also liked the view of the fortress and the old town. But, unfortunately, we had very unpleasant experiences in the residence, which are the result of indifferent and unfriendly employees. Before arriving, we reserved a (paid) parking space in the garage by e-mail, and when making the reservation, we informed them that the height of our car, which has a ski case on the roof, is 210 cm. When we wanted to drive into the garage, we luckily noticed that the height was 190 cm. No one apologized to us for the mistake, which would have caused damage to the suitcase and skis. We were then told at the reception that we can park in the free parking, which is 600 m away. We experienced the next disappointment when we arrived at the apartment, which was dirty and very modestly furnished. One room had no wardrobe at all and the beds were very cheap and uncomfortable. There were very few glasses in the kitchen, basic necessities were also missing, e.g. cutting board. We informed the reception about the deficiency, but they did nothing to correct the deficiency. We experienced next disappointment when we realized that there were no cleaning products for the bathroom and toilet in the apartment, which we had to clean ourselves. We went to the reception and asked them to give us suitable cleaners. We were offered a tablet for the dishwasher and a small bottle of dishwashing detergent. So it became clear why the apartment was so dirty. Apparently, the reception doesn't even know that the bathroom and the toilet can't be cleaned well with dishwashing detergent, and the guests don't take it with them on vacation either. But the staff doesn't care how clean their apartments are. Furthermore, WiFi is not free in the apartment, but costs €16 per person. As it is extremely slow, it is better to use mobile internet. When booking, the sauna was also included in the price, but it was not working. They have "very friendly" warnings in the corridors that you will be evicted if you listen to music after 10pm. The staff doesn't even bother to clear the snow at the entrance. The residence is a disgrace to the tourism of France and the EU. I travel a lot, I have been in more than 200 apartments and hotel rooms, but I have never experienced such an contemptuous attitude of the staff towards the guests.

Horrible stay. Unfriendly staff! Dirty accommodation! Bedbugs! 15 days of stay feeling bad. What a shame! The only positive point is the location of the residence.

Apartment very well located in the city center but very noisy (delivery every morning at 7am, from the restaurant opposite and very busy street) Old furniture, mattress worthy of a 1st price hotel, temperamental household appliances; bathroom joints to be redone and plumbing checked... return of pleasant smells through the siphons). We pay for the TV while the channels are free and we no longer pay a license fee... reason given: it is the consequence of the loss of a star!!! (4-star hotel previously!!!!????) Very dirty SPA, with unsupervised children constantly in the jacuzzi, so impossible to go there after a day of hiking. And above all, the reception staff are very unpleasant (especially the brunette woman apparently very famous for her friendliness) and incompetent; do not respond to any of your requests and systematically refer you to the town hall or the tourist office. Thanks to them, we paid €39 for parking X2 (2 cars) while the town hall made it free for the week we were there!!! We can't do anything for you... Fortunately, the region is magnificent and we had fantastic days. So a very good holiday despite everything. Hotel not recommended because it does not deserve its 3 stars and is therefore much too expensive in view of the services provided.
