I found the staff to be very helpful and engaging. The room was clean and comfortable, and was cleaned daily. The bar and dining area was comfortable with a pleasant and affordable menu. Public transport was handy for exploring and is walking distance to the shopping area of Braddon. I will be staying there again.

Kinda old worldish but not too bad.Biggest pain was the fire alarm which went off on a freezing winter morning about 7:30 am.. This by all accounts is a regular occurrence and not rectified; set off apparently by some guy smoking; 20 minutes of ******** announcements before we found out from another traveler that it was a false alarm.  Management kinda smiked sheepishlyand did bugger all. Bathroom in our room was tiny and toiletries had to be collected from the front desk. 🙄 Had to lug suitcases up and downnstairs and at the front entrance. Kinda lame. Guy working the dining room though on the breakfast shift was a bit of a diamond. After an ‘odd’ comment he myst have noticed I was unimpressed with the fire alarm ******** and went out of his way. A bottle of birthday bubbly was a classy touch by him. I’d stay there again because of him.

Beautiful hotel in Canberra, one of, if not the best hotel in the capital. The beds are comfy and there is a beautiful courtyard! What's not to like?

What a great stay! The old world charm of this charming hotel…. all the facilities you need & a warming walk today all the famous Canberra landmarks. The buffet breakfast was delicious & the room was quiet. Extra better pillows were provided by reception promptly..hotel music. swing jazz or classical music throughout the hotel rather than the dross sound on a loop a much needed improvement

Beautiful property super close to shops and restaurants, and has a courtyard and enclosed guest parking. Great hotel, and the rooms were clean and big! Will definitely keep this hotel in mind for my next trip.

The hotel is quite good. The parking was in increased to A$28 if not pre-booked but trip.com says only A$15 and no need to book. The hotel ended up waiving the first night parking when we asked and we parked on the street the next day. The hotel room is very big and the beds are quite firm and comfortable. The bathroom is a good size but would appreciate rubbish bags into the bins because it feels like I can't even put in banana peel because I don't want it to go to mush inside the bin and someone has to dig it out and wash the bin. There is an iron and ironing board in the room with safe, extra blanket and pillows. The only complaint for the room is probably the noisy air conditioning. Food at the bistro inside the hotel was pretty good for dinner and the buffet breakfast had a good variety but it is the same everyday.

Breakfast was really good. Location is ok for visiting the city center. However, the standard room was very small, just next to reception. the small window didn't allow a good view.

Disappointing breakfast and room. There was a very small section of first come first get free private parking, the rest costed $28/night which was not mentioned in the booking details. Had to buy that even though I booked this hotel because of the availability of free parking.

Good location, walking distance to Canberra center; The room is clean and layout is quite fanny ( two levels), beds are comfortable. The breakfast is above average, and we did enjoy the dinner too. Secured parking with ev charger , which is very convenient. In summary, had a good stay with Mercure and definitely want to come back if we visit Canberra again.

Awesome hotel with parking and breakfast was delicious. Kids enjoyed the stay very much. Great location too with all attractions at reasonable distance. The only feedback will be to provide USB/C ports at the hotel. Thanks

The room was amazing! Bistro had lovely food and the staff were incredible. Thank you for an amazing stay and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Stayed for nearly a week, the highlight is the stable quality of breakfast and service. The room is cleaned every day, the cleaning level is different every day. The facilities are old, but sufficient. The air conditioner is loud and squeaks every night, but it is the same in old hotels. Check-in is a bit complicated. Two consecutive rooms are not good, and the third room is released for an additional $15 per day. If you are passing by, it is suitable, easy to park, and it is enough like a motel. You don’t have to consider the room you are given, anyway, you will leave the next day. If you stay for a few days, unless you sleep at night and go out all day, after all, Brandon is in a good location.
