Rsvp Hotel

We booked our stay here based on recommendations on line, It looked really fun online, but we were a little worried about it being an “motel.” Once we arrived, we were not disappointed! The vibe and decor were just a hoot. We knew when we got to the front desk and there was a button to push to get champagne (my wife’s favorite!) that we were in for a treat. The room was huge, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was also very large with a long counter to put all of your toiletries on. We had an actual record player and vinyl records that we could play, and the refrigerator in the room while modern in function had a 1950s look that was very nostalgic. We had a back patio area out a back door, in addition to a common area with a gas fire table with seating available for many people. We met many others who were passing through. The weather was not very warm so we did not check out the pool. The bakery is not to be missed, the food there is really good. We had such a good time staying at the RSVP hotel, I wish we could have stayed longer!

Went above and beyond for a fun Sweet 16 Staycation. Staff was amazing and special touches were incredible. Wish we could have stayed another night.

I debated whether or not to leave this review because I really hate to complain but I just want to save someone else reading this who may be sensitive to smell. I’ll start with the good by saying that the staff was very nice and accommodating. My main concern however is that there is definitely mold or mildew. Upon arriving we got assigned to room 4 and as soon as I walked in I smelled it. My husband was still unloading the luggage and I went outside to tell him and an employee could see there was an issue and she told me the smell was paint because they did a few touch ups in the room. (It smelled like mildew to me). Anyway, I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep with that and asked to be moved and they accommodated immediately. They moved us to room 11. Upon entering it definitely also smelled like mold/mildew but not as strong as the first room. After a long day of traveling and a jam packed schedule I did not want to deal with trying to find another hotel and worry about getting refunded etc so we decided to stay. When we were out and about I purchased an air purifier and ran it on high the entire time and the mildew smell was still very noticeable every time we rentered. This is clearly an issue that needs to be addressed as now I am seeing there are other reviews mentioning they noticed the same. I wish I would have read them before booking. I am only writing this to warn anyone who may be sensitive to this, clearly there are plenty of other good reviews of people who were not bothered by it. I did not complain further because we had already moved once and so I assumed it was an issue with the entire property. As I mentioned before, the staff were sweet. The room was cute, it was a little too far for my liking to walk to the main st but it was an easy short drive or Uber. The price was also reasonable. I just hope that they address the underlying issue that is causing the smell. I’ll also note I did not visibly SEE any mold/mildew, but also didn’t look super hard.
