4 instead of 5 stars due to Good and Bad. The GOOD: as expected for Boulder the staff was exceptional, attentive, kind and courteous. The Place overall was rustic wild and woodsy. This is the BEST choice for mountain, steam and woods in Boulder area. Now the BAD: outdoor lighting which leaks into room all night. IF you get room number below 44 they have both blinds and curtains to block all light to sleep in dark peace. But IF your room is 45 or above prepare to have a well LIT room all night from the outside security porch lights. Is it as bad as being in New Jersey with a flashing neon light all night? I thought so. I had to stand on a chair and custom rig blankets over 3 windows. Ugh. Or you could wear night mask. Or they can add the usual heavy curtains to block all light like most hotels do - even them -if you are lucky to catch a larger room with a lower room number. Once they make this change, this will be a 5 star place.

Rustic, could use some updating and basic maintenance. Location is great, staff were super nice. Very good in room coffee. Free electric car chargers. Multiple lodging options. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Fine internet access.

The A-Lodge is a gem in the Boulder area! You get to stay in the middle of Boulder Canyon, right on 4-Mile Creek, in a beautiful setting! But you are only 5 minutes to downtown Boulder and all its amenities! There is a beautiful lawn space and beer garden, plus hot tub gazebo that are there for you to enjoy! And your timing lines up during the summer, you can join an Adventure Yoga class on the lawn!

The location is fantastic to Boulder and the property is cute. However, we were there during 90+ degree weather and it turns out none of the rooms are air-conditioned. This is not disclosed anywhere on the website that I could find. The staff suggested fans and sleeping with the windows open, but as a woman traveling alone with small children (and the property does not have security present past 10pm), I did not feel safe sleeping with the windows open. We had a hot, miserable nights sleep. It would have been an unsafe temperature for anyone with a baby or a medical condition. I realize Boulder typically has cooler mountain air, but with climate change making summers hot everywhere people really should know up front if there is no AC or not so that they can make an informed decision—this is a basic hotel expectation in the US.

Great place. We've have stayed many times. Anyways nice. 10 minutes to Boulder for food and city stuff. Mountain experience close to town. The lobby is beautiful. Even beer on tap!. We had music 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there. We will be back.

Stayed in the king suite; its kitchen had what you need for simple dishes. Comfy bed with comfy pillows. Sparkling clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Cute locale and only a seven minute drive (3 miles) to the popular Pearl Street Mall. Sat in the sunshine for about 30 minutes whilst (great word, eh?) the bird app on my iPhone identified the songs of over 22 different types of birds in the area. Would stay here again if was in the neighbourhood again.

really cool spot for a great price. Beautiful Location. I much preferred staying here over one of the mid range chains right in town. Easy access to running trails, and comfortable beds. Pretty common areas, and nice to have coffee by the stream. The pillows were not great, but we did not mind at all. Nice little kitchenette as well.

While from the road, it looks like an ancient roadside motel, the rooms, lodge & property were outstanding. We are going to book our daughter & SiL there for their anniversary. Perfect for them. He's a fly fishing guide with Minturn Anglers and this will be perfect.

Wonderful stay at ALodge - used the Van camping by the creek - lovely spot -The lodge is a wonderful old building that has been restored, a good place to relax, read a book, meet other guests, there was a wonderful group playing blues folk music, thoroughly enjoyed them. A-Lodge also has the option of Hostel style rooms regular motel and suite rooms. Take advantage of this unique venue if you are in the area, it is close to hiking trails and is only a short drive to downtown Pearl St.
