We stayed here for a couple nights this week for a business thing for my husband's work. McMenamins is a regional/local brand and thus I'm a bit biased toward supporting them. I have eaten at other locations, but never stayed at any. The locations are always a bit quirky and eclectic and focus on preserving historic locations in a way that benefits the community which I think is great. This location is clearly popular and busy for dinner even during the middle of the week. The food is good, but maybe a bit overpriced for what you get. The staff were all very lovely. The property is clean and well maintained. There is a pool, but it is open to the public so pretty busy (great for the community though!) and might not be for you if you're not big on public pools with small kids. The gardens are pretty but there were a lot of bugs, particularly spiders. Service was good everywhere. The meeting facilities and catering for the meeting oriented meals were good and the service was good. The rooms are not terribly sound proof. We could hear the music outside and what sounded like people running upstairs. The alarm clock has a white noise machine built in and we always bring our own so that wasn't a huge deal for us. This location probably could have got another half or full star from me if it addressed three things: 1) There are tables on the terrace that are uncovered and under trees so I nearly had pine needles and leaves land in my food 2) The pillows are HORRIBLE. Even just offering a pillow menu for people to pay for better pillows would have been welcome. 3) The towels are incredibly cheap and rough. It's like they bought the cheapest towels available. Not awesome and a small detail to fix. Overall good experience and definitely a fun little getaway in a cute neighborhood. If you aren't looking to stay it has some good restaurants that are nice for a casual brunch or dinner.

Love the eclectic and uniqueness but wish the service matched the price! We stayed three nights and at $250 a night before tax I wish they at least restocked the room, made the bed, emptied trash, refilled towels…etc. while I understand that this place can rely on the quirky decor and location I wish they would attempt to also provide a good hotel stay experience as well.

This property is absolutely Magical! It is such a beautiful space to chill in. As an artisan myself I notice and really appreciate the artistic details around every corner! The gardens are lovely and wild at the same time. Friendly staff creative menu items in the different areas. I really appreciate all the fun things going on in the evening like the movie theater and live music. I had come home to bury my Parents ashes and I was very sad. Your property and service really made the somber experience much better. Thank you .

We arrived around 3pm on Thursday afternoon and went to our room for a rest. By 6pm we went for a drink, there were lots of uncleared tables. We also booked another night at cost of $295. We went to the Wood Shop bar, the manager was moving stuff around and the two bar tenders genuinely were not interested in serving anyone, more happy chasing to some one at the other end of the bar which didn't bother the manager. One beer and we went left and went to the Shed where there was one sever doing cocktails, that was the highlight. Oh and coffee in your room, NO you have to go to the top floor and get coffee from a flask. The next day we were out and when we got back our room keys didn't work so we went to reception. I asked if the room got made up with fresh coffee cups etc. The same girl who tool our $295 for the additional night told me we would of had to request that to which I said it would have been nice to know its an option. The place is lacking any care or customer service. We won't be going back. It's tatty too.

This hotel is very cool, absolutely love the chill atmosphere and cozy aesthetic. Plus the landscaping is beautifully done, love all the native and edible plants. Overall excellent, drinks were great, staff were friendly, I would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Quirky and fun. Rooms lack a fridge and coffee/coffee maker. No decaf. Coffee limited to the morning, only. Did not clean room (no clean room please signage). Staff was friendly and efficient.
