We arrived March 21, 2025 around 3 am because my husband flew to Georgia to pick up his father who has dementia. His father lives in Shrevport, LA and lost his bearings as he drove from state to state. We arrived at 3 am because it took time for my husband to drive from Georgia to the VA Hospital in Shrevport. When we arrived at Microtel, the woman behind the counter said she tried calling me to offer us a discount since we arrived late. We thanked her and went inside our room which was a complete shock. The photos online DID not represent the room we stayed in. First, the door into the room was not secure. I could place my fingers between the door and door frame. Second the room did not feel clean. The carpet did not look like it has been clean for awhile. The bathroom door was peeling and did not properly shut. I had to keep shutting the door. I did not feel safe to shower as well as walk on the bathroom tile floor and carpet so I continued to leave my socks and shoes on. There was no coffee pot available. TV did not work, the only reason why we stayed another night was because the woman offered us a discount for the first night and our main priority was to make sure my father in law was getting the medical care he needs. We needed to speak with his medical staff and his wife the second day. When we arrived home, I received the email of the hotel bill. I called Microtel Hotel and spoke with Pam who has NO customer service skills. I told her that our visit was to help my father in law who has dementia, initially she said we would receive the discount in 7-10 days. Then she paused and informed me shortly that the employee should not have given us a discount and that it does not matter what time we arrive, we need to pay the full amount. I called again and demanded the name and number of the owner. His name is David Patel. She would not give me his number and told me he would call me. I also told her that our room was one of the worst rooms we ever stayed at. She never apologized. As visuals speak louder than words, I have attached photos of the actual room we had to stay in for 2 days. Never again will I stay at a Microtel Hotel or this hotel ever again. We already had an emotional trip and now having to deal with this issue. Also David Patel never called me.

The hotel was beautiful. High ceilings with interesting features and my suite had everything that I needed. The downstairs restaurant was excellent. I had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. The breakfast served one of the best made to order omelets that I have ever had.

That bathroom designer needs to go back to school The handle for the shower was unstable. It’s one of those until you get to the temperature you want however, it constantly wanted to drop down meaning it would either scold you or freeze you depending on which direction it dropped. Somebody needs to talk to the designer of the bathroom sink situation. I’m not sure what they thought would happen when people try to use this set up, but it’s awful and it’s going to particularly if anybody’s under 5 foot two. The cleaning people are using Pine-Sol to mop and that could be a bit too fragrant for a lot of people.

Average room Check in was very easy and it was quiet at night. Room was cold, but still humid and smelt mildewy, as did the bedsheets. Might just be because of Louisiana humidity. Shower was very slippery. Comfortable bed, quiet, clean.

good location, not to close to any major highways that the noise from traffic is a bother. Quiet area. breakfast was reasonable hot and cold selections.

Everything was terrible the mold in rooms the shelf fell on my son under the tv . Both workers were rude explaining the problems about the room . The owner rarely comes in to explain the problems . The hotel is poorly ran and they should be shut down . This is a problem that should be fixed by microtel and whydam . Also the WiFi never worked and the people up stairs jumped all night and morning. The owner just painted over the mold and the paint smell was very strong with the mold .

We stay here usually 2 times a year. This time my husband went alone. I booked a suite, didn’t get it. The towel bar was hanging and the towel was in the toilet when he got there. The shower handle came off in his hand. When complained desk person didn’t seen to care, nothing happened. Not sure we will stay again. All they had to do was make it right

I frequently stay at this location when traveling for appointments and have generally experienced few issues during my visits. However, during my most recent stay, I was unable to complete my schoolwork due to extremely slow and unreliable Wi-Fi. This was a significant inconvenience and left me quite disappointed. But overall aside from that it was an enjoyable experience

The folks at the front desk were fabulous! So kind and helpful. They made check-in and check-out a total breeze. The hotel itself is average. The lobby area is fine, but once you get into the hallways, it feels very run down. The room itself had definitely been upgraded, but the bathroom door hadn't been replaced and was all marked up. There are stark contrasts to the areas they've upgraded versus areas they haven't. The beds were great - super soft. The walls are paper thin. You can almost hear the people in the room next to you breathing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you're a light sleeper. We could hear people walking across the floor in the room above us throughout our entire stay. We got up at 3am to head out on our cross country drive at 4am and - if they are light sleepers - I have no doubt we woke up the people on either side of us, below us, and perhaps across the hall from us and above us. If you're a deep sleeper and aren't bothered by some shabbiness in the hotel, this is probably a great place for you! If you're a light sleeper, you likely won't sleep well here.
