Having read all the amazing reviews we set off for this place in the hope they had a room despite them not replying to my email. We arrived and had chance to see the room before reserving so it was kind of our fault for going ahead. Room was fine, bed comfortable, historic but also very tired, tiny bathroom. There were lights shining through the bedroom windows all night due to inadequate blinds, the curtain rail was hanging off the wall so didn’t like to try that as well, as such getting to sleep was a challenge. No onsite staff in an evening so definitely an Airbnb feel as opposed to a homely B&B. Breakfast was nice enough but not amazing, maybe we’d been spoilt by our previous location in Bar Harbor, it was crazy busy and over crowded at breakfast which is served at 8.30am. Lady who checked us in was nice and the location in Boothbay Harbor great. Tv was good but wouldn’t connect to the internet properly as the wifi was very slow. Ground floor room very quirky/historic but needs some TLC, as does the outside of the building which is very tired looking, and in no way deserving of 5/5. As such I’m somewhat bemused by my fellow Trip advisors, I can only assume the other rooms are far superior.

We just got back from our 3rd stay here. It is always such a pleasure from the clean, spacious rooms, to the convenient walkable location to downtown, and the fabulous hospitality with breakfast delivered to our room. We've already booked for next November!

Love The Harborage! It’s located close to downtown so you can park and walk. The rooms are clean and cozy. The innkeepers were attentive and helpful. The breakfast delivered to the room was yummy on both mornings. This was our fourth year and we already booked for next year.

We appreciated the warm welcome, delicious breakfasts, and close proximity for walking to activity in the heart of town. Relatively close for taking in Gardens Aglow at the botanical garden, including reasonable walk if one wished to take advantage of free shuttle to the garden. Suggestion: another table or floor lamp in common area (versus relying on overhead lights) would make that common area that much more cozy given the view and the electric fireplace.

A beautiful setting, overlooking the harbor. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. A special bonus having our breakfast delivered each morning with a smile. The location was perfect as we were able to walk to the downtown area.

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in New England and this was our favorite place to stay! The room was beautiful with an amazing view of the harbor. It had an electric fireplace as well as a spacious bathroom, table and chairs, refrigerator and keurig machine. The breakfast was amazing every morning and was brought to us to eat in our room or on the balcony which was such a nice touch. The innkeepers, Brant & Laurie were wonderful, attentive and welcoming. If you are ever in Boothbay Harbor, this is the place to stay! It was just a 3 minute walk to town which was charming and full of cute shops and good food!

Great location. Staff was incredible. The breakfast was such a treat each morning. The view is wonderful. Sit outside by the fire pit and enjoy some wine. Take a dip in the hot tub after a day of hiking. Would definitely come back again
