This hotel is the prime example of lipstick on a pig! Went to check in and had a very rude host tell me my room was canceled the day before when in fact we didn’t cancel it. I asked questions and literally received no answer just a “here sign this.” It’s middle of summer and the pool is closed. We come with kids, fix your pool! First Holiday Inn I’ve ever seen with no complementary breakfast. They charge for what looks like a jank food experience. Hallways feel like you’re on a cruise ship as they are no higher than 7 feet at best. The rooms look like a restored Days Inn, paint peeling off the walls and the halls and room smells musty. They try to make this seem like a 3-4 star hotel when it is no better than a 2 star at best dressed up as a Days Inn. Beds are comfy but the $200 plus a night is too steep for what you get. Spend your hard earned money somewhere that cares and isn’t trying to be something they are not.

When we arrived at 10PM, parking was an issue as a significant portion of the lot was being used for construction storage for work on an adjacent lot. The room we reserved a month ago was not available. Rate charged was more than advertised. But it was late and we were exhausted. Asked for extra towels and bedding (because we did not receive the room we reserved). Finally received them after midnight, requiring multiple calls and a trip to the front desk. Second night - same request and essentially same result. This time no one answered when we called and we decided to just go to the front desk and wait. People who worked there were perfectly friendly - just appeared understaffed and not overly motivated.

College Life It was a nice hotel, the room was clean, my night was quiet. Due to nearby construction the parking was a little lacking. An i didn't realized when I booked that breakfast was not included.

Not clean, pool out of service, rooms smell bad. No breakfast free in the page don’t specify that if you want breakfast you need to pay for each person.

Under Construction The hotel prices were inflated for App State check in. Then to arrive and see that the pool and Jacuzzi were out of order. No continental breakfast as stated in the listing. The property is under construction but if it had maintained properly it would have been more pleasant.

The hotel advertisement shows an indoor pool, it has been closed by county inspectors for 15+ months as of my visit. The rooms have been updated, but they need new mattresses. The rooms were very clean, but the carpet in the hallway needs to be repaired as it wasn’t installed correctly. The traffic noise is loud. Despite all of this, the front desk and the room attendants were all pleasant and the stay was reasonably good. The owners need to invest in the pool, mattresses, and hallway carpets.

The desk clerk at check in was great. She went out of her way to solve reservation problems, We originally booked at Holiday Inn Blowing Rock but had reservations canceled less than 24 hours before our trip. They said a broken water main was the reason for cancelling our reservation, so we then rebooked in Boone. It turns out that after being told that they had a pool and hot tub, they were both not working. I would definitely not go back to Holiday Inn.
