Makani Luxury Cartagena

I had a friend recommend this place to me for a day pass as she had gone a month or so ago. Upon booking, I became a bit nervous reading all of the negative reviews on Google. However, our experience was very very positive. I will say we got very lucky as the resort was fairly empty so they upgraded us to pool chairs for free. Considering how warm it is, I do think if we didn’t have access to the pool my review wouldn’t be as high. The other seating option is kinda just in sandy areas but not technically beachfront. The beach is nice for swimming and super beautiful, but there are no lounge chairs on it - just be aware of this. The grounds are all around gorgeous and all of the lounge areas super nice. I know a lot of people complained about the service being slow but I thought all of the staff was very attentive without being overbearing and anytime we ordered something, it came quickly. The food and drinks were both great as well. All in all, I highly recommend a visit here for a relaxing lounge day 😊

Wonderful Stay Such a beautiful experience! We loved every moment of it and it was an amazing aesthetic; it was so much relaxation and the food was great.

Hotel is nice, clean and safe, they would benefit from a gym and getting wifi to work on the roof of the premium rooms (where the jacuzzi and outdoor areas are). Unfortunately dining, customer service & management is lacking. Every single day the hotel ran out of food and drinks. The staff did nothing to resolve issues, rather just walked away quickly, made excuses or stood there saying nothing. During our stay the hotel ran out of STILL WATER, Coke Zero, pizza bases, ham, beef, deserts, other ingredients in cocktails on their menu. These problems happened EVERY day and eventually we met with the quality service manager, who did give us a free dinner, which was appreciated, however he just made more excuses rather than solving issues. Apparently it is the “hotel’s” fault, not any individual… One day we ordered our own food and drink from Cartagena for delivery, which proves getting supplies isn’t that hard, but nobody at the hotel was able to make this happen. Boats run every hour from Cartagena and staff on both sides? We ordered a drink off their menu only for staff to come back 20 minutes later and say they don’t have all the ingredients, then walk away without offering an alternative. We would come back if they got fixed these issues, but with an experience like this, if these issues aren’t resolved, we’d prefer to go back to Punta Faro on Mucura instead of come back here. Facility is luxury but service is far from it. Fix the problems and we would return.

Beautiful view, relaxing vibes, great staff. Had a great trip staying me and my wife. Good was good ambience was better. We will definitely be returning. Rooms were clean spacious and comfortable. Service was friendly jf not a little slow at times. Loved every bit of our makani vacation
