Had a great stay. Suite with sitting area, kitchenette, bedroom with two beds, two baths. Very clean and comfortable, and all up to date. Two large tvs. Two bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub, so we could devote one to the kids. Room service night one, and breakfast on morning one were delicious. Dining room but short staffed at breakfast, but so are most restaurants these days. Convenient parking. Wish we’d stayed long enough to enjoy the amenities, but they looked great. Peaceful lane and grounds on property.

We have been coming here for years and staying in the Inn which we enjoyed. We called to make reservations only to find out that you can no longer request a specific room. This policy was put in place 2 weeks ago. The price that is charged per room is about $400 per night depending on the time of year. With these prices you should be able to pick the room of your choosing. Has ownership changed? We had a special occasion coming up ask for room number #1 which is the best in our opinion. A couple of the rooms do need some updates as we have found in the past which is one of the many reasons we enjoy room #1. We were told that we could request but no guarantees that you would get the room upon arrival. This is reminiscent of the practices at some less than desirable places at the beach where you don't know what you get until you arrive. Is this what Chetola has become. This is the very reason we do not frequent such places. Hopefully management will eliminate this ridiculous policy and allow long time customers to choose the room that they want versus losing business We are currently looking for another place to stay. We have been reviewing other complaints about Chetola and what a disappointment. Others have confirmed new ownership and how things have declined. We were given the name of Traci as manager. Traci, please disregard our email after reviewing the recent reviews we no longer want to stay at Chetola. Such a shame!

Excellent stay! Staff were ALL very kind and went extra miles to enhance my stay there. I had a fantastic room overlooking the lakes and had a fireplace that was simply relaxing and so cozy! It snowed while I was there, and the room could not have been more cozy! Just heavenly! The housekeeper, Maggie, was also very helpful to me, and took good care of my room essentials. I also got a massage treatment at the Chetola Spa, and Heather did a fantastic job. Her therapeutic skills were terrific, and she told me several things to help me with lymphatics once I got home. She was great to get to know. Very knowledgeable! I ate at the restaurant on property, and I ordered the Halibut. It was so delicious and prepared so healthy by the chef, that I made a point to tell him what a terrific job he done preparing my dinner! It was a great way to end a perfect day after the wellness visit to the Spa. I felt so healthy that day and night. I truly just wanted to hang out in my room and around the common areas and library of the Timberlake side of the lodge, because of the peaceful tranquil atmosphere there. When it came time to leave, I wanted to stay! Thanks to all the staff members who were involved in making my visit so wonderful!!! I’m grateful! See you next time!

My extended family had a reunion at the resort (we rented a number of condos). There was Something for everyone here: the littles loved the resort playground and pool, and the nearby Tweetsy railroad; everyone loved the lake, some loved the resorts’s music tent; others went off to hiking trails or fishing or shopping in town. There was something for everyone and our dinner in the resort hall was very good.

New Owners/Management has lost its focus — sad to see the hotel and restaurant fall so far from its glory days. Staff for the most part is unfriendly and unhelpful. Rooms in the hotel and the Inn are tired and have issues: not clean, yet heavy smell of disinfected. Hot water didn’t work in several rooms and management seemed uninterested and unpologetic. Refrigerator and outlets don’t work. The Restaurant and bar is not open several days of the week — and when it was open, the food is subpar and overpriced. The continental breakfast looked like it was leftovers from an event. — Yogurts were in bows, but not chilled (no ice to keep anything cold), no bowls for the cereal, flys on the food. — I could go on and on. The grounds are still beautiful, but this amenities are all worn e.g. tennis courts and pickleball courts old, indoor pool dark and dingy, spa a joke! We paid $350 per night mid week and frankly for that price they really need to step up their game. I feel badly writing this, but I can no longer recommend The Chetola or the Timberlake Restaurant to visitors.

We vacationed at Chetola resort for 3 nights I brought my kids there to see snow for the first time. We had a wonderful experience there. The staff was very friendly and kind to our family. The pool was heated and always had staff in the pool area. We were late for movie night and no one was in the movie room so the staff restarted the movie for us which was really nice after a long day of out door activities. Everything was clean and organized, also conveniently located in the center of everything. We were able to book for the sporting reserve the drive was short but a bit hard to find because of the recent hurricane that went through gps wasn’t working 100% We were there for my son’s 7th birthday the staff was incredible so patient and kind to the kids. The staff there are very knowledgeable and safe. The facility its self was beautiful we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They had golf carts to help move the family from different shooting areas. The staff even warmed up a giant cookie and sang happy birthday to my son. Very good people they have working there.

Chetola is magnificent. We stayed in the king historic rooms and our friends stayed in the a lakeview room. Our rooms were great size, the staff was very friendly, and the new chef's food was delicious. The lake is gorgeous - love the swans. There was great hiking straight from the resort, but our favorite was hitting the trophy water with my son with Chetola's Orvis fishing guides. They definitely put us on the fish!

Nice setting, but a major disappointment given the $500 per night (at least, with fees) price tag. We were told we'd have to endure a leaking refrigerator throughout our five-day stay--and it was not just a little leak, but one that spread along one side of a bed for the entire time. The only remedy offered was extra towels to change to keep the water sopped up. Room phones didn't work, so no calling the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant for room service that is supposedly available to guests. We were also "welcomed" with an unwashed glass by our ice bucket, complete with greasy finger marks, and we waited four hours for a replacement. Housekeeping seemed to show up each day right after we returned to the room and put the "Do not disturb" sign outside. You'd think after missing cleaning one day, they'd be on the lookout for the "Please clean" sign in coming days. Not so. Restaurant is meh, although the wait staff is super.
