Les Criquets Hôtel & Spa

I’ve stayed here several times over the last five years for work as it’s conveniently located, but the hotel has become increasingly overpriced. The rooms are long overdue for an upgrade, and the bedding — including blankets and cushions — is old and even torn in places. You can here every thing in the rooms next door, the shower in my room overflowed, and there is now an additional £15 charge to use the pool, even for hotel guests, which is really disappointing. Breakfast is also poor value for money, with very little choice for the price. Overall, there are far better-value hotels across Bordeaux, and this will be my last stay here.

The positive side of this hotel is that it is quiet and comfortable. We arrived on Sunday and there was no staff to ask any questions. We went out to dinner on Monday and when we arrived, we couldn’t access the hotel because the code they gave us wasn’t working. We were outside at night for over 30 minutes. We called the number at the gate but it was going to voicemail. We later learned that we needed to call the number next to the gate code. The next day we talked to the hotel about our access troubles and their only answer was that they changed the code and forgot to give us the new code. No sorry, no acknowledgement of the troubles we went through. Due to this experience, our kids think that Bordeaux is the worst place ever. We had great times in the area but never had issues like this.

This hotel wasn’t what I expected. No front desk staff after 7. Room had one full bed and a loveseat type of sofa to sleep on. Had to ask for sheet for it-it was vinyl. Paid for 2 breakfasts and there was hardly anything being served-no eggs left and the rest of the food was scarce.

EXCELLENT TOUJOURS PARFAIT

A clean, comfortable hotel with ample parking and it is a great alternative to central Bordeaux. The staff was super - I had a medical issue and they were very attentive and helped me get to doctor. I wish I could have stayed longer but I do hope to be back.
