I needed a quick night stop on the way to Aberystwyth so this was only going to be a B&B stop. However, points of note are: (1) Friendly staff (2) In need of a good update - rooms OK but clearly in need of TLC (3) Room had a few places of thick dust and cobwebs (4) Hotel in the main had "stuff" in the corridors and things piled-up in certain rooms which were visible

Absolutely impeccable stay. We were welcomed as soon as we got to the hotel by a lovely lady who checked us in and booked our breakfast times and explained how the WiFi etc worked and the door codes for the evening as we were going to an event. The bar staff who were husband and wife I believe were absolutely amazing aswell full of conversation. Easy to talk to and interested in talking to their customers. The room was wow! We had a family room and it was so spacious and very nice. The breakfast was phenomenal and the view out of the windows while eating breakfast are just stunning to say the least. Very reasonably priced and an overall amazing stay. Lovely family who run the business and you can tell they work really hard. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area and will definitely be returning in the future. Great stay thank you very much

A very well run and welcoming family-owned and managed hotel, in a perfect location for exploring mid Wales and the beautiful Cambrian mountains. Our room was very comfortable and had lovely views over the Rheidol valley. The hearty breakfasts were a great start to a day's walking.

I came across this place while camping nearby with my kids. We were craving a proper home cooked meal by our last night and it didn’t disappoint. We had first stopped at Hafod hotel but that looked extremely overpriced so we’re glad to find this lovely small and cosy place a few minutes away with much more reasonable prices. The garden is also really pretty with a beautiful view. They serve food to non residents until 7.30pm. The Chinese stir fry with home made sauce was so good! Three of us had that and one of my other daughter had the vegetarian chilli, which she also loved. There is a kids menu but my kids wanted the adult options. The desserts were even better, especially the caramel biscuit cheesecake! The staff were friendly and helpful. The friendly owner came and chatted to me while my kids were playing. She explained to me a bit about the background of the hotel.

Hold your breath to avoid the smell... First thing that hits you on arrival is the drainy, greasy 'off' smell in the reception area and stairs. The carpet reminded me of a pub in the 80s with that slightly sticky feel. The room was 2 floors up through odd fire doors, it was a tiny attic room, you banged your head on the ceiling getting out of bed. The room was hot and oppressive so the window was open all night resulting in cars and lorries driving past waking you constantly. We had no view of and mountains. The bathroom reminded us of being on an aeroplane. The shower was tiny with a broken door. The whole place smelled of damp. Plus points: the bed was actually comfortable and the staff were lovely. We honestly could not wait to leave. I do think they try their best and reading some more positive reviews perhaps its a matter of what youre used to as an individual. It reminded me of a cheap guest house we would stay at in Blackpool when I was a kid. The photos dont do it justice- and thats not a compliment.

Beautifully situated in the Welsh hillsides with fantastic views and at the side of a waterfall this 230 year old coaching inn is modern in all requisites and is maintained in superb condition gaining 5/5 in hygiene standards. The hosts are welcoming and friendly and go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home.
