The Inn at Virginia Tech - on Campus

I booked three nights at the Inn at Virginia tech- Oct 18, 19, 20- Woke up to bug bites on my torso, thigh and wrists both Saturday and Sunday morning in room 219- I asked to be moved and speak to a manager. I was told a manager would call that afternoon- this was not the case. After changing rooms, I experienced no new bites. Upon checkout, I asked again to speak to a manager and Nick the manager was called. He ushered me into his office with another female from the Inn. I showed them my bites. Nick said he’d look into the situation and even offered me first aid for the bites. He also said he planned to compensate me financially - my understanding was he would refund the cost of the infested room. Nick called Tuesday(October 22) morning to inform me that the room had been inspected and there was no sign of infestation. However, he stated that the bedding was not tested and he would no longer be offering compensation. Upon push back from me, he agreed to contact ******* for a refund on my behalf. In the absence of any follow up from Nick, I called ******* and the representative called him while I was on the other line. He stated there was no bug problem and he would not be issuing a refund. I called Nick shortly thereafter and asked for clarification regarding promised refund. I also asked to view documentation confirming the inspection. Nick has not returned my calls. I have been a repeat customer, and member of the Parents club -having stayed there at least 3-4 times, I have been a good guest, paid my bill and never asked for anything. I believe I went through the proper channels- reaching out to a manager twice and then ******* as a last resort. It is unacceptable to wake up to bites in a hotel room, however, it is even more unacceptable to not be believed and for a manager not to follow through with his promises- once I am off the hotel grounds. The takeaway is there is no accountability from this hotel and certainly no service after the sale.

BEWARE ... This hotel is a sham during football season. We booked this hotel to take our business customer (their daughter is a newly attending Hokie freshman) to the upcoming Boston College game. The hotel unbeknownst to us, changed our check in time from 4pm to 7:30pm days before the game ... 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE GAME STARTED???? UNACCEPTABLE BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. Management should be ashamed of yourselves. Disgrace to Hokie alumni and supporters.

My husband and I recently visited our son in VT and had the chance to stay at The Inn at Virginia Tech. It felt like a stroke of luck, since it was a Sunday night, typically a low-cost night for hotels, and there were no campus events, ensuring good availability and affordable rates. This is a helpful tip for anyone looking to stay at a pricier hotel like this one. The hotel itself met all our needs, boasting a convenient on-campus location, an impressive building with beautiful views, spacious and quiet rooms, a very comfortable bed, and a spotless bathroom. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We look forward to our next trip to VT.

Our stay started out a bit rocky with the AC in our room, luckily they moved us to the Room right next door very quickly & all was fine! Very good customer service at front desk! Clean rooms, comfortable beds! Breakfast looked delicious but only buffet which was too much for us, so we went to a local restaurant on Main St called Joe’s Diner! It was great & quick service!

Great stay for daughters sophomore drop off. So convenient to be onsite vs prior places. I had booked a suite - can’t have been much more $ - but must have been around 1000 sq ft. Staff were helpful when we had departed and called to say wife had left something (again) ! Will aim for this place every visit as VT is busier every year

Was touring Virginia Tech. Hotel is very close to the Visitor Center and visitor center parking. Enjoyed our stay at the Inn at VT. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy check-in. Definitely have breakfast at Preston’s!!!! Amazing Buffett breakfast.

Beautiful facility with all the amenities. Walking distance to town and campus. Friendly staff. Our family has been staying there for many years. Enjoyed Preston’s for dinner with great food and service. Views are amazing, highly recommend staying at the Inn at Virginia Tech!

Nothing to complain about, everything went very good. Large comfortable rooms, all really clean, parking lot at the door, friendly staff. There's even a small gym available. We chose to eat breakfast elsewhere, so that I can not comment on this.
