Coed-y-Fron

Another lovely stay here. Room warm clean and comfortable, breakfast was lovely. Our host Hazel and Amelia were really nice. The Royal Oak and Gwydyr both served great food, never had a bad meal. Will definitely be returning and staying here again.

Our room at Coed-y-Fron was very small, but the reason for only 2 stars was that the customer service was terrible. When we arrived we were instructed to fill out a form indicating our menu choices and the time we would like breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is served any time between 7:00 and 10:00am. My husband usually wakes earlier than I, so he went down to the dining room to get a cup of coffee a little after 7am. The young girl that was serving told him that there was coffee in our room (instant) and that he was not welcome to have the brewed coffee until we came down for breakfast at 9:00. The coffee set-up in the room was right next to the bed where I was still sleeping, so the only way he could make coffee was to wake me up. The second morning we were on a tight schedule and requested breakfast at 8:30. We sat in the dining room waiting, but breakfast was not delivered to us until close to 9:00. The only time we saw the proprietor was when we arrived, and she was neither helpful nor friendly. I thought possibly that the lack of customer service was the be expected in the UK, but every other place we stayed had excellent customer service. We loved our time in Wales, and Betws-y-Coed was absolutely stunning. I would love to go there again sometime, but I would not stay at Coed-y-Fron, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

Really friendly welcome with instructions very well explained. The room was absolutely spotless. My sister and I have thoroughly enjoyed the freshly made breakfast. Excellent hotel!

Amazing town, amazing staff, amazing stay! Betws-y-Coed is a perfect base camp for exploring the region and we were so fortunate to have picked Coed-y-Fron as our accommodation. Easy access to hiking trails, very good restaurants and a warm and friendly family run B&B. We stayed four nights and loved our room with a comfortable king size bed and updated private bath with shower. A memorable highlight of our cross country adventure in England and Wales!

Lovely b&b in the heart of the village within 3 mins walk to all the shops, restaurants and pubs etc. We had the family room 5 with our 14 yr old which was roomy and the bed very comfy. The bathroom looked very new and modern and shower was very good (powerful with plenty of hot water). There’s was yea, coffee, biscuits and a coffee machine in the room as well as some cordial and water on arrival in the room which was much appreciated! There’s a small car park at rear of the house and limited parking alongside the road outside the house. Breakfast was good and filled you up for the day - you need to fill out a form the night before to order what you require. Overall a lovely stay - Betws y Coed is wonderful and so pretty with lots of wonderful scenic walks and drives you can do!
