We met some friends here for lunch. The food was lovely. The big problem was parking. You have to register your car registration number and you are given a two hour period of free parking. The car park was empty. The woman at the bar was sure that we could extend this for a further two hours if necessary. Close to the end of our two hour period I went back to extend our parking period but couldn’t do so. We hadn’t finished our leisurely lunch but the manager felt that two hours was ‘quite enough time’. Summer visitors get longer as service times are longer. The manager decided to book us into the car park as overnight guests. We stayed and had two more rounds of drinks. The restaurant needs to realise that whilst it is busy with visitors in the summer it is locals who help hospitality businesses survive the winter. I don’t feel that any of us will be rushing back.

Recently renovated and in its first season we visited for lunch. We are local to this popular tourist venue and so have avoided it during peak season. This was our first visit. It has been renovated to a high standard, pleasant decor and nice comfortable feel. We ordered food and drink. All was very good. We opted for the lite bites options. Food was nice and of good quality. Arguably a little pricey - but quality was good, so no issue. The issue comes with the carparking. They use RingGo to manage their carpark. Being opposite the very popular tourist spot of Swallow Falls, I suppose this is understandable. There are several car park notices on the carpark, but lets just say, if you dont know to look for them, they are not very obvious and they are in small print. There are no large signs indicating you have a maximum of two hours. You are not made aware of the two hour limit by the staff either. Fortunately I am very well aware of carpark management companies. We registered the cars. After a nice lunch we wanted to stay and enjoy more drinks. Going to reception to extend the car parking, we were told we couldn't. We were further told by the manager, that 2 hours was more than enough for lunch. After some insistence on our part, the manager reluctantly registered us as guests, meaning we could stay and enjoy drinks without a £100 fine. Just left a bad taste, and we may not return, which is a shame - because businesses here need local support during off season.

Arrived 8pm, headed to reception and said we’re here to check in.The guy said I’m a chef I’ll get the receptionist, a girl comes out and says the receptionist is on her break she will be about 10 minutes! I asked can you let her know we want to check in? (What receptionist has a break at 8pm at night?) told again she will be 10 minutes. Paying for a room and can’t check in after check in time? When we checked in after 15 minutes waiting the receptionist said are you eating here tonight? I replied no she said good as we’ve ran out of everything. Room was nice, bed very comfy, but the toilet was so close to the towel rail you had to slide yourself onto it, the hotel itself was really nice but the staff let it down. Bar staff were very unfriendly, seems they’re more interested in chatting to the chefs drinking to serving paying guests. Headed down for breakfast…chaotic. Buffet was empty, no one greeted us. We sat ourselves on a table, no one approached us, the only table free had nothing on it, no menu nothing. As a waitress passed I asked can we have two full breakfast? We didn’t have a clue what was on for offer and just wanted to leave. We chose to move tables and headed to a table which a sever was wiping and my husband asked are we ok to sit here please? She replied can you give me a chance to clean it! So rude. Breakfast came it was lovely, but the front of house staff let the place down. We had no hot drinks offered either. On checking out I raised my complaints to the manager who replied yes I was made aware of the check in situation and refunded us £20 and said she would have a conversation with the staff. Bit of a joke really. Myself and my husband work in hospitality ourselves and are very understanding and I would never leave a review like this but people need to be made aware how the staff out front let this place down.

A couple of excellent nights spent at this friendly hotel. Freshly modernised, clean, spacious rooms with an excellent breakfast. Lovely position, ideal for Snowdonia attractions. Overall, very happy; fabulous hotel with staff always willing to assist.

Ben, Abi, Adam, Coops, Jill, Lisa, Ciara, young man that helped us at check out and previously, the Chef & more people whose names I don’t have. Would recommend and stay again. Great location too. Our 4th year of annual trips away, thanks all for helping us make more great memories.

We genuinely thought we were in for a treat. At £185 per night, the Double Room wasn’t cheap — but honestly, it felt more in the £125–£135 range. Breakfast was completely average and a very small portion . Bar prices were outrageous, and while the menu was extensive, the high prices and small portion sizes observed were very off-putting. The Family Room was actually quite good and perhaps just about justified its £225 price tag. Clearly, the recent refurbishment needs funding somehow. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed — which is a shame, because the staff were truly excellent and went above and beyond. The free parking for guests is also a nice bonus. Suffice to say I wont be going back in a hurry.

A pleasant overnight stay at this recently reopened hotel. We had a comfortable room on the first floor overlooking the entrance to the falls. A totally refurbished bar area with a good selection of ales/drinks. Food was great. Good atmosphere too. Would recommend visiting/staying there. We'll definitely be returning. Approximately 2 miles from Betws-y-coed, however, it's on the A5, with access into Parc Eryri/Snowdonia. Hourly (Summer) buses S1 from Caernarfon and Llanberis to Betws-y-coed and also the T10 from Bangor via Bethesda to Betws-y-coed and Corwen beyond.

Had a 3 night stay at this lovely venue, the room was great, clean and had everything I needed. The venue is stunning with some amazing views! The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. The only meals I had during my stay was the cooked breakfast which was cooked fresh and tasted great, not to mention the choice of hot and cold drinks plus cereals and pastries. Would definitely recommend and visit again!
