"This is a decent transit hotel, I guess. The front desk staff were friendly and always smiling, even chatted a bit. The room was small, but it was just for one night, and at around 400+, the price was acceptable. The main draw is its convenient location near the pier, offering direct access to Perhentian Island Marriott, otherwise, I wouldn't have chosen this hotel! Dinner at the restaurant was just okay, the taste was a bit disappointing, barely enough to fill you up."

"Had a pleasant stay at Perhentian Island Resort. The room was comfortable and clean, with a really nice beachfront view and great location. The scenery around the resort was beautiful and relaxing. Staff service and facilities were generally good. The food was okay — not bad, but there’s still room for improvement in terms of variety and taste. Overall, it was a good experience and I enjoyed my stay."

"We booked a standard room for a one-week stay, and even that room was already quite expensive (close to €100 per night). Unfortunately, when we arrived, the condition of the room was far below what anyone should expect for that price, so we asked to change rooms. The original room was clearly lacking both maintenance and proper cleaning. The entrance had two doors, but the second one would not close, so the air conditioning constantly escaped. The bathroom door was a broken folding partition that would not close properly. There were ants on the floor, dust on the bedside tables, stained bed sheets, a heavily stained rug, dirty wardrobes, and a fridge covered in rust. Even the bedside lamp was covered in grime. Overall, the room felt dirty and neglected, to the point where we genuinely felt uncomfortable showering and sleeping there. We spoke to the managers, expecting at least an apology or some form of compensation. Instead, they simply offered us the option to upgrade to a better room—but only by paying the full additional price. Since we were staying for a whole week, we agreed to pay almost €400 extra just to have a room in acceptable condition. We explained that we were willing to pay for a better room, but we felt some compensation would have been appropriate, considering the original room was not even clean enough to meet basic hotel standards. Their response was dismissive, and they even laughed at us. No apology or compensation was ever offered. What made the experience even more frustrating was the attitude of the reception managers. Almost every time we tried to ask a question, they would interrupt us before we had even finished speaking, repeatedly saying "yes, yes, sit, sit" as if they already knew what we were wanted to say. It came across as patronizing and made us feel that our concerns or questions were not being taken seriously. The upgraded room was definitely better, but it still showed obvious signs of poor maintenance and needed a thorough deep clean. It was simply more acceptable than the first one, despite costing us an extra €400. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the chefs always seemed unfriendly and unwelcoming. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The photos on the website appear to be old and do not reflect the current condition of the rooms. This resort charges European prices, but unfortunately the rooms and overall service fall well below the standard those prices would lead you to expect. We were not expecting luxury—we were simply expecting a clean, properly maintained hotel room. Sadly, we cannot recommend staying here."

"Perfect holiday getaway. Booked the family seafront which was just completed in Apr24. Everything works well as the new unit, cold bottled water and cold room in a heated noon is a real blessing. Rooms are clean and good to have toilet separated from shower room. We use Cosmic Divers as it’s cheaper compared with Barat’s, not to mention additional 10+8% tax! Cosmic allowed us to choose our preferred dive spots and offer pick up/drop off."
