"The Intercity Hotel Berlin Hbf is all about location. Situated just a 3-minute walk from the main station, it's incredibly convenient for travel, with numerous shops, restaurants, and a Rewe supermarket nearby. I visited in August, and with temp ranging from 15-25°C, the air conditioning was a welcome but not a strong feature; while it kept the room from getting too warm, it wasn't capable of getting it truly cold. The breakfast, at €21, is standard but offers good value for the convenience. Highly recommended for its location, friendly staff, and price."

"It was nice stay, just that we assumed there would be kitchen from the pictures. From the trip.com website it was not so clear if the room had kitchen. Very tricky you may end up choosing non-kitchen room , so better to check with hotel. location is very close train station and 10 min walk, 2 mins ubahn to penny, aldi at neukolln. The rooms were kept very clean and tidy everyday. Overall, we are happy with stay and services provided."

"Great hotel in a great location. Staff were lovely and accommodating, and we appreciated being able to leave our bags before check in and after check out. Breakfast was nice and diverse. There are vending machines and fridges you can purchase drinks and snacks from. The room amenities were a little too basic. We missed having coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Also the pillows (one each) were very thin and uncomfortable. A/C ventilation didn’t really make a difference on hot nights so we slept with the windows open (which was nice but a little noisy)."

"The room had a terrible smell. It smelled of an old unwashed man. Dirty carpets, dirty towels, holes in bed linen. Overall cleanliness leaves much to be desired.
I appreciate it that after my complaint nice staff gave me a different room, but that new room was smelly as well, I figured it was because of the bad air conditioning system, and I guess old untended carpets also contributed to the problem. In the new room the towels looked clean, but they smelled of fried patties.
Overall, it was an awful experience, it was hard to breathe with the air conditioner on as it made the room stinky and humid. That's why I decided to refrain from using it. Luckily, the temperature outside did not exceed +30°C during my stay.
This is definitely not a 4-star hotel!!! It barely deserves even 1 star."

"At first we were worried about the location as it is away from the main city center, but once we ‘discovered’ the U2 train station is only 5 minutes away and the bus stops are nearby, we could go anywhere in Berlin. Very convenient. This hotel is very new and maintained well. The service is fantastic. We had a good 9 days stay."

"1. Less than 15mins walk to S-Bahn trains, including airport routes, to and from airport is around an hour. The most economical way to travel. Yes, there’s a lift access for luggage, pram, wheelchair and etc use.
2. Location was ok in general, loving the residential surroundings, pretty peaceful and quiet.
3. Room overall, satisfactory cleanliness. Smart tv, outdated radio(cd,cassette)which I don’t mind having jazz music played whole day. Bed was confortable, pillow was just so-so.
4. A lot of strategic power sockets but not user friendly, all were local rounded in plug, usual international traveler plug would not fit in. Reception would loan without fuss.
5. Good security, lift access through room key, CCTV was placed, after hours main lobby door have to be access by room key,
6. Reception staff in general serious looking, some are friendly with a smile and greetings. Housekeeping gentleman was friendly.
7. Shower pressure and temperature was great, have to point inner slightly, if not water would be sprayed out from the shower cubicle.
8. Lastly, Aircon was not working and reception claimed perhaps it’s spoilt and could loan a fan without charges. Did not request for one, had my window left ajar at all times when in the room as weather was still lovely ranging about 10-20 degrees Celsius. I bet summer time would not be that ideal for sure."

"Das Hotel ist sehr schön und sauber, einziges Manko ist das Schließsystem per Handy, das find eich persönlich ist nicht so gut durchdacht. Wenn der Akku leer ist oder das Handy kaputt geht kommt man nicht mehr rein, genauso nervig ist es immer den Internetlink zu öffnen um schließen zu können. Fällt Wlan mal aus oder der Kunde hat kein mobiles Datennetz mehr, kommt man auch nicht rein. Also mir würde es besser gefallen das man mit dem Code den man unten benutzt auch oben rein kommt aber wie gesagt am Hotel ist ansonsten nichts auszusetzen."

Walk 7 minutes in one direction and you are at Checkpoint Charlie. Walk 10 mins in the other direction and you are at the Mall of Berlin. Walk 20 mins in another direction and you are in the Museum area of Berlin. Loads of restaurants, supermarkets and stores right next door to the apartment. Wonderful location. Can walk everywhere, plus the subway station is right outside.
Room
Large. Clean. It's a studio apartment, so in one room you will have your bed, sofa, coffee table, desk, wardrobe and TV. Then in another room you will have your kitchen and another room is your bathroom.
Bedroom
Bed is comfortable, but for some reason, despite having a 1 double bed, the duvets supplied were for 2 single beds, rather than one big bed.
Plug sockets near the beds are useful, but they are not VERY near, but close enough.
The room is large and clean.
The TV is small and because of the size of the room, it's almost hard to see. Yes it's on a wheeled table so you can bring it closer to the bed, but the power cord limits the range of movement. It is a Smart TV though so you can cast your android phone to it. Not iOS
There is a balcony area with tables and chairs which is nice.
The AC is wall mounted as if it was a TV. It did cool the room which is surprising as the room is big.
Bathroom
Super clean. Towels and such changed daily. It's a bathtub with a shower combined. And now I am going to be SUPER picky when I say this......do NOT let this impact your decision to stay here or not, but the water pressure is good but not great. But that may be because I like to feel like the water is really shooting at my skin. Also, the shower head holder kept sliding down. Annoying, ever so slightly, but not a deal breaker
Kitchen
So useful. It's a large kitchen with a fridge plus freezer. Induction hob with 2 rings. Sink, dishwasher. Plates, bowls, cups, tea saucers and cups, cutlery, cooking pots, frying pans, utensils for them, cutlery for eating, kitchen knives, tea towels, sieves... all great and all provided. There was one review that said it only offered 1 plate set.... we had several and it was very very useful.
Laundry
The apartment has a laundry room. 3 washing machines, 3 drying units, an ironing board and good steam iron. Even the powder is provided and having a laundry room was super useful. It's on -1 floor of the West side of the building.
Breakfast
The breakfast room, on the 8th floor does have an amazing view, and the room is lovely - everything is white with stone-coloured chairs, super clean... as if designed by Apple
It's a half-buffet style, cereal, pastry, cheese, and cured meats are all help yourself. Eggs, tea and coffee are on request. I didn't like this. The staff are wonderful and very polite and well trained, but, for me, I prefer less interaction and would have preferred a full buffet-style where I can help myself to whatever I wanted without having to ask.
Gym and Sauna
Also on the 8th floor. The gym has wonderful views, there is a seated bike, treadmill, rowing machine, weight bench and some dumbbells. Max weight was 10kg for the dumbbells so really its more of a cardio room.
Service.
We arrived around 11pm, but reception is not open. You have to scan a QR code, fill in all your details, upload a photo of your passport.... then wait after it successfully registers you you can open the doors. Or you can pop into the security office where the guy will hand you a key. Much easier, but you are not explicitly told.
But, the service is good here. Everyone is very polite, very helpful, all speak English. Cannot fault them at all. Just wish the reception was 24 hours
The location is great, the room is large and clean, the laundry room is useful and the gym and breakfast room have great views. It is expensive which is the only hesitant thing about returning here, but it is comparable in price to other similar hotels but here you get a much larger room with a kitchen. Great stay!

GGuest UserLocation is a little far out depending on what sights you wish to see. However, the city has amazing initiatives such as bikes, scooters and mopeds which you can rent for a low price to get around the city. Easy to make an account and start travelling around on either, often they are nearby the hotel. Obviously they have great transportation links like bus, tram and train too. The Warschnauzer StraB is the closest train station to the hotel which is around a 15 minute walk so super convenient, although we found the train maps a little tricky to understand so heavily relied on Google Maps to tell us which trains to use.
The service and cleanliness of the hotel is great, we had no issues what so ever. Overall, the towels, bedding, bathroom and bedroom was spotless. Nothing to complain or comment on negatively. We didn’t use room service, the continental breakfast additional option or bar downstairs so unable to comment on those. But staff are very friendly and helpful.
Amenities are fab, the fitness centre has a gym which is larger than most hotel gyms, super handy with plenty of variety of machines. Like a downside commercial gym with generic machines. Handy free shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps and shower gel in large containers. Again, this is the only amenities we used so unable to comment on other things.
Overall lovely very quirky hotel with lots of charm. Would certainly recommend to others as we are very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay at other Nhows.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the city center, and transportation is the biggest plus. The light rail and subway are right in front of the hotel and very close to the city center. The single room I booked was an attic room with a sloping roof and an area of less than 15 square meters. It was a little cramped and depressing when I checked in.
The front desk service is good, professional and enthusiastic. The room price is more than 900 per night. I feel that the price/performance ratio is not high. If I come to Berlin again, I probably won't stay here again.

AAnonymous UserThe location is okay, and the rooms are fine, but there are two hotels in Berlin with the same name but different addresses, making it easy to confuse them. A colleague of mine made the mistake and ended up at the other hotel. I reported this to the hotel, and they said many people have reported this, but they don't care, saying it's the guests' fault for not reading the address carefully. The hotel's attitude is questionable. While the address can distinguish the two hotels, the hotel's name shouldn't cause misunderstanding. Knowing that this has already caused a significant misunderstanding, they continue to do so with impunity. I won't stay here again.

AAnonymous UserI I had an unforgettable hotel experience. When I arrived, I tried to push the door open, but it was locked. There was no doorbell. Just as I was fretting over what to do, three groups of guests who had booked the same hotel tried to enter, but none of them could get in. Then one of the guests noticed a digital keypad and typed in the code from her email, but none of them could get in. Each of our groups tried their codes, but none of them could get in. As we were still fretting, the door suddenly opened, and a guest came out, allowing us all to enter. That guest explained that the hotel had emailed us a ten-digit start code and a four-digit comfort code. You had to enter the start code first, then the comfort code, to open the door. The other guests had both the start code and the comfort code, but my email only contained the comfort code. The kind guest checked my email and confirmed that it contained only the comfort code. He then called the hotel, and they said our reservation had been cancelled because we hadn't paid the city tax. However, I clearly saw on the check-in voucher that the €29.90 check-in fee was payable upon arrival. The staff member on the phone later said they would email us the payment and, after payment, gave us a new start code and comfort code. After payment, we finally got a room. However, upon checking in, I discovered it wasn't the Standard Studio with Balcony we'd booked, but a Standard Studio. I didn't want to call them again to complain about the mistake; I just wanted a comfortable room. The hotel's location is convenient, about a 5-minute walk from S train station, and the room was generally acceptable.

BBolor06I found one thing quite surprising. As this was my first hotel stay in Germany, I'm still getting accustomed to what's usually provided. In hotels in other countries, complimentary toiletries like soap and toothbrushes, along with slippers, are typically provided. This hotel, however, didn't offer them, which was a little unexpected. Is this standard practice across German hotels, or was it just this particular establishment?

Reception services were good and could stay in lobby kitchen before check in time.
The room had oven, fridges, sink and the bathroom and shower is common.
The surprise was that there was also a tv.
The breakfast has not many vegan options as announced but it was quite good and is taken outside where is also garden.
