Very friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay, right from the entrance to the exit of the hotel. Was also able to make requests using text messaging - very prompt response. Definitely want to come back and stay here again.

Some homeless around the area but still generally quite safe.

Good location, but the empty shops at the street level of the building is not nice.

The location of the hotel is in the downtown of Berkeley with lots of restaurants and supermarket (Target) around. Bart and buses are adjacent to the hotel. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bed, pillows and blankets are good and warm. The bath amenities are available but you have to squeeze hardly to get out the lotion. The road near to the hotel is under repair, the workers start working quite early in the morning at 7am, thus it really affected us as we didn’t wish to wake up so early. Homeless people are scattered around the hotel therefore you have to exercise care when going in and out of the hotel.

The room is small and facing the street which is very noisy. There was no service and the front desk staff had a very bad attitude (the male one with dark skin was even worse). Can't live here anymore!

Too bad, no doubt about it. First of all, we booked a deluxe king room with a bathtub for 1,600 yuan on Ctrip, but the room we were given was very small, and the rooms on the floor were very smelly. On the first night, I thought it was just this type of room and didn't argue. The outrageous thing was the second night, in the middle of the night, there was a loud dripping sound from the ceiling leaking onto us, and our clothes and quilts were all wet, waking us up from our dreams, and the ceiling also fell down. It was speechless. The excessive thing was that we called the front desk, but they didn't apologize at all, and seemed very calm. They directly changed the room type for us. We arrived at the new room type and found that this was the deluxe king room. When we checked out, we argued with them, and the waiter said that our original room was a deluxe king room. He refused to admit it and didn't apologize. It's just bullying Chinese people, discrimination, and intolerable!

The hotel is in a good location, next to the Berkeley campus, with many restaurants and Target is across the street. The waiters are friendly. This is my second time applying. Highly recommended.

It was stated that a quiet room was needed, but I was given a room next to the gym. When people were exercising, I could hear the noise in the room. I felt that the front desk did it on purpose. The advantage is that it is close to the subway station.

A simple four-star hotel. Although it has central air conditioning, it is still a bit noisy. The walls are not soundproof enough. The cleaning staff only speaks Spanish and not English. Parking is at the parking lot next door for $23 a day. It is better than a motel in that it is a little quieter. The coffee provided is good. Also, the water seems to be purified and better than the average water in California.
