"we went there at night and their daughter was very kind to give us the whole trip of the house and telling us about the pros and cons of a room. we stayed at the main house and took the bridal suite. it was amazing,very large and rooms face the mountain view with many large windows. the best part was the jacuzzi tub inside. loved the bath. but it was bit expensive. we have stayed at other many such places for less price. the grounds also have a pool,tennis court,but we didnt use them since there were lots of bugs. the best part was breakfast. Lan, the chef really makes great breakfast. he can make customized to your needs. it was fun talking to him as well,very jolly. he also suggested us nice places for visit and they sure were worth a trip. the main house is good to see. the museum of creative process sculptures can also be seen all over the grounds. at the back of the inn, they do have some tables to just relax watching the mountains. but make sure to take bug spray.overall we had a nice time."

"I did a lot of research before making a decision on where to stay in southern Vermont, and we were not disappointed. North Shire features large, clean rooms with cathedral ceilings, very comfortable beds, strong shower, each room has its own deck outside sliding glass doors, A/C, all the amenities, excellent homemade breakfasts, privacy, wonderful mountain view, well-kept property outside of town, friendly, serving hosts, all with a very Vermonty touch of class, and close to lovely Manchester with all its superb restaurants, ski areas, and the Lincoln family's Hildene estate. It was just perfect!"

"Stayed in Rm 1! Fabulous! Great gas fireplace, very comfortable bed, comfortable seating and a great Jacuzzi with tea lights and a chandelier. We had 2 nights of good sleep and light filled room in the day. The linens in the bed were wonderfully soft. The owner Kate was so hospitable, accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. An added bonus was having 2 nights in their restaurant with great food, scallops, duck and filet mignon!! And the server, Carlos, was GREAT! So glad we went."

"Dog friendly place, extra fee of course. Place is outdated but rooms were clean. TV, microwave, and mini fridge in rooms were clean and in good condition. Heater/air conditioner seemed very new. Good part: it was easy to find. Bad part: mildew in tiled shower; bed was soft. Exercise area is at Lobby with two machines. There is small sitting area in Lobby also. Had Wifi, coffee maker, and place to hang or store luggage."

"Cleaning is quite general. The front desk staff is relatively indifferent. It is more convenient to have a restaurant to eat, but overall the facilities are poorly maintained. The gym is very humid and has to be dehumidified with an exhaust fan. The sauna room we had in the past few days was all bad."

"Everyone just loved the Lodge! The beds were so comfortable and the pillows were amazing! Everyone slept very well! The kitchen was so well equipped! And it was beautiful!!!! We had a private dinner party for 80 in there Tavern room which leads out onto a stone patio. The views were incredible!!! It was a complete success!!! We can’t wait to come back in January 2025!"
