Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun by Karisma

NO BEACH ! Sell off vacation and air Canada vacation poor marketing and not advertising clearly no beach . Prestige program !!!! They played good cop bad cop …. Then when we were seconds away from purchasing they changed the name of program from sapphire to jade and lied directly to our face on the reason for program change ! Sapphire had 18 items of benefit where Jade had 12 . Airport transfer among other items were removed . Pressure Tactics. Grateful we walked away without purchasing !!!!! The room we booked on sell off vacations with 2 beds with swim up ! We got 1 bed and upon arrival when we questioned the bed , they had no swim up rooms with double beds and offered no discount for the incorrect sleeping arrangements and no credit for the NO BEACH !

I stayed at Margaritaville from October 22nd for four nights. The resort is conveniently close to the airport about a 20-minute drive and check-in was a breeze. It’s a smaller property, so getting around is easy, and there are elevators throughout for added convenience. The food was generally good, and our waiter Erick at the buffet was excellent. Definitely ask for him if you can. Surprisingly, room service ended up being the highlight of the entire dining experience. The resort has a couple of pools with swim-up bars, but the selection of top-shelf liquor is limited, so you may want to bring your own. The overall vibe is geared toward an older, quieter crowd. If you’re looking for a peaceful, low-key getaway, it works—but if you want a lively, active environment, this isn’t the place. There was some entertainment, including aqua aerobics in the main pool, but the nightlife was lacking. The biggest disappointment was the beach, which is essentially non-existent. I was also not a fan of their point system for restocking the mini bar; housekeeping should simply refill it during daily cleaning. Overall, it was an okay stay, but I won’t be returning.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancún – September 2025 What was great: * Quiet and relaxing resort, perfect for a peaceful getaway. * Well-maintained property. * Fantastic staff: special thanks to Herberito and Ruben (waiters), Angela (smoothie bar), Gregorio and Elbert (5 O’Clock Bar), and Miros (entertainment team). They really made our stay memorable! * Beach Bar Rita: excellent food and a great selection of tequilas. Don’t miss the “El Gordo Burger” with a shot of Don Julio! A true highlight of the resort. * Pools, although small, were clean and enjoyable. What could be better: * Food in general was average and not as good as when it was Karisma Azul, apart from Beach Bar Rita. * The beach was affected by sargassum, so swimming in the sea wasn’t ideal—though this is a natural occurrence and not the hotel’s fault. * Breakfast buffet was very limited during the first week, which we found quite shocking—something we’ve never seen at an all-inclusive resort. You could still order à la carte options, but it would have been nice to have more buffet choices. Overall: We would recommend Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancún for a relaxing holiday. It’s a lovely resort if you’re looking for peace, good service, and a friendly atmosphere. Tips: Uber is available and much cheaper than resort taxis.
