This waterfront cottage has use of the deep ocean water private dock for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Kayak or paddleboard into town or walk/bike into town along the waterfront trail right from your back door. Full custom kitchen, two decks. spectacular private view. Sunsets are incredible from the back deck. Loved the privacy and location of this house. It was perfect for us and our son who stayed with us for several days. The outdoor space was enjoyable for dining and lawn games. Loved early morning walks on the Rail Path and sunny afternoons on the dock. Only a short walk to downtown Belfast for shopping and eating. Enjoyed a day trip to Fort Knox and the Bridge tower and to Camden.

What a wonderful setting and place, just a little walk through a summer meadow from the rail trail and river, and a short walk or bike ride into Belfast. Jon's cottage (he built it!) is perfect - airy, comfortable and well equipped. We saw multiple eagles, a variety of songbirds, a loon and more. A perfect getaway any time of the year, and a lovely base to take in all the beauty of Maine.

Book this cottage!
This cottage, Forepeak, is just about perfect – love the location – Belfast is an amazing small town - if you like, the town is a short walk from the cottage on a lovely trail. The cottage is also an easy drive of much of the mid-coast (we went to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Camden, Rockland, Boothbay Harbor, and Freeport). The cottage itself is so lovely – love that there is a king-size bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and laundry. The upstairs loft has a double bed and powder room. The back deck is wonderful and has a grill and chiminea. The dock is a short walk down the lawn – it’s such a peaceful place to just relax.
Jon is a wonderful host! Can’t wait to go back.

Felt like adult summer camp! Beautiful stay.
We had a wonderful stay in Belfast. The town is quaint and delightful. The cottage is adorable and we had so much fun hanging out on the private dock. Such a perfect getaway!

Sisters' Trip 2023
We were very pleased with our stay at Forepeak. The cabin is cozy and well equipped. Our host, Jon, was friendly and great to work with. When Maine calls us again for a sister trip, we'll call Jon to book Forepeak!

Delightful cottage, excellent location
Excellently appointed cottage with everything you could possibly need, including a kitchen aid mixer. Very nice appliances, very comfortable beds, unique decorations. Definitely not cookie cutter. Private setting but close to town, .98mi 20 minute saunter on the trail. Good base for day trips.

Wonderful cabin
This cozy cabin was perfect for our stay. The location is picturesque and close to nature, while still being a short drive away from the center of Belfast. We had a great time!
