Tusan Beach Resort - All Inclusive

It's an all in resort. Parking is free. Security at gate. Food is good. Except indoor pool closes early.

To start with - it is not a 5 star hotel as we know it. All these restaurants and facilities are advertised but only fraction of restaurants/bars are actually open during what is the busiest holiday period. Facilities like game room (table tennis/pool table), kids fun room/arcade are so run down, dirty and generally not looked after. Even sweeping the floor from old leaves, chipped floor tiles and plastic cups would make a huge difference. Tennis court, gym, kids play park are like ghost town, didn't seem like anyone set a foot there in a while but once you see the facility (or what's left of it) you can't help but turn around and go. We had a la carte meal at Lykia restaurant (service and food was good) but there was broken glass unswept under our table, which is just another 'missing a mark' moment. My husband came out with a bleeding toe from the main pool - can't be certain if that was again broken glass as didn't see. Beds by pool, at least what we had, were broken, same as umbrellas. Again, lack of maintenance. Hotel allows local business to come advertise their services, eg Chinese restaurants, to the guests enjoying time by the pool. We had been approached 3 days in a row by the same guy offering to visit his Chinese restaurant. Food and service during meal times are not bad, there's variety and plenty of it but unfortunately my husband had 'traveller's diarrhoea' on the second day of our 1 weeks stay. And we haven't been the only family affected by this. We arrived late at midnight expecting a good night sleep but unfortunately the room was prepared for only 3 guests when we were 4 (2 adults and 2 & 7 yrs old). I called reception for a cot bed but was told it's too late so ask tomorrow. Both children then had to sleep in one single bed which resulted in younger one rolling out of bed at 5 am in the morning and sustaining a bump on his head. To add to our first night issues me and my husband barely slept on what was the hardest bed we have ever 'slept' on. We spoke to the guest relations manager the following morning, explained the situation of the sleeping arrangements in our room, which was sorted out that afternoon. Unfortunately even 'softend up' the bed was still very uncomfortable for us. Rooms are cleaned daily and house keeping are really hard working people, we left a tip for our cleaning lady who was there every day of our 7 nights stay and she left us beautiful swans made out of towels to show appreciation. Staff and the service they provide really varies in areas. I think language barrier plays a huge part here and definitely not all staff speaks or understands english, you would expect 5 star hotel receptionists should be able to. I want to mention SPA treatments and the staff that work there as they were brilliant, we came back twice there after receiving Turkish hammam for the whole family, which none of our previous 5 star hotels we stayed in offered, so it was very accommodating for them and kids very much enjoyed it
