Campanile Bayeux

We had a time to find the place, google maps is not the best, staff at war museum were nothing but helpful.

The rooms are basic and functional. They are set motel style in a square with breakfast served in the separate reception area. We travelled as a group of about 20 and arrived late at night when no staff were on site. However the prior arrangement to pick up the room keys was smoothly achieved. Our room had twin beds on the ground floor. They were quite comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the room above but nothing too intrusive. We appreciated having housekeeping daily despite a notice saying they only came if you asked for them. The room was clean and the en-suite was adequate if a little in need of refurbishment (cracked basin). The breakfast had a good choice of dishes. The staff were friendly and very helpful , and efficient in making sure tables were cleared quickly when it got busy. You can walk into the centre of Bayeux in 10-15 minutes and it is a fascinating little town with plenty to see. The Campanile brand is cheap and cheerful but we enjoyed our stay and would use the hotel again in the future if returning to the area .

This is a very basic property that is central to Bayeux and the WWII sites. It has a restaurant but the nights we were there, there was a tour bus with about 100 12-year-olds who were all eating at the restaurant so we went in to Bayeux for dinner. The bathrooms were a little bit grimy but it had everything we needed to get a good rest in between sight seeing.

Quiet hotel with 10-minute walk to city centre, with pleasant green space all around. Charming staff, good quality breakfast.
