Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive

We had a vacation as a couple at the Grand Paladium Palace, Punta Cana where we felt wonderful. The view was towards the pool, which we really liked. We were not bored at all, we had activities all the time, then we visited Saona Island for my birthday and did a guided day trip to Santo Domingo. The services were always excellent, making sure you don't miss anything. Every day the refrigerator in the room is stocked with water and soft drinks and the rooms are cleaned. The food at the buffet is delicious and the menu changes almost every day. The bars always serve you with what you want to drink. It was a dream 2 weeks and we want to come back next year. This resort is absolutely beautiful. I've read other reviews about staff being unfriendly however our experience was the opposite, everyone was super friendly and very helpful. I would agree with other reviews that you need to book into restaurants early as they tend to fill up quickly. The room we were in was lovely, and the grounds, pools, beach, etc. are pure paradise. We got upgraded for our honeymoon and came into balloons and matching t-shirts, which was a nice touch. We did feel like we were duped into looking around a resort with hard sales techniques for us to buy into a loyalty program after being told we would be picked up to 'be shown around'. Didn't spoil anything really as was raining that day but if it had been sunny, we would have been very annoyed, especially since the salesperson was very loud and touchy. Also we were told 90 minutes once we realised, which became 4 hours.. had an issue with one of the restaurants bringing the wrong food and then not rectifying. Saying that, the setting, staff, number of food places, bars, and general feel of the place was heavenly. All other restaurants were amazing. The chic caberet is a must. Seems expensive at 80 dollars per person, but we love that kind of thing, singing, performing. The food was glorious too. I'd strongly recommend doing that. Beware if you do the boogies, you get absolutely drenched and covered in mud driving through puddles so take stuff you dont mind being ruined or needing a deep clean along with bandana and sunglasses, so much fun though I would recommend this! The dolphin experience was amazing, i dont usually like doing animal experiences with captive animals but found out they actually have a large 'playing area' in the sea and they genuinely seemed super looked after and happy. I'd definitely go back to that resort or others in the Palladium group, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and were sorry to leave. Theres ice stations everywhere and clearly signed restrooms/maps etc. On check out we still had access to all food and drinks while they stored our bags. Absolutely recommend this place. Lastly, my feedback on the restaurant issue and sales patter was responded to with a lovely personalised email so yep - go, you won't be disappointed.

The girls at the coffee bar in the lobby Piacere, there names I beleive are Maridalia, Nayely and Flornelia are amazing and so polite, they make beautiful coffees and put so much effort into making it the best, a big praise to them girls

We have just returned from the Palace. Staying in a junior suite swim out. The room was generally good and we enjoyed having the swim out pool. We took advice from here and social media pages to take a shower curtain for the bathroom for more privacy with a teenager. This was a good idea and welcomed by my teenager. The room was clean and mini bar stocked every day. Our room seemed to regularly be one of the last to be cleaned which could be a bit annoying as it would often be after 4pm. Pools were clean and pool staff friendly. We all enjoyed spending time there, joining in the aqua aerobics and the swim up bar. We booked trips through the dive company on site. There were plenty of sun-beds and shady areas. Buffet restaurants were good and lots of choice including freshly made options. Service could be good but often we had to keep asking for glasses, cups for coffee and tea spoons. Very hit and miss - some staff friendly and others disinterested whether you tipped or not. The Japanese restaurant was by far the best and our favourite both for service, food and interaction. 100% recommend. The steakhouse was terrible when we went with poor quality meat and service. The Italian and Mexican were generally ok but nothing special. We enjoyed drinks and snacks in Hemingway. The closure of Bavaro did not affect us and we did not notice any noise but we were ideally located and some distance away from the Bavaro side. The closure of the theatre has had the most impact as the shows being relocated to the different hotel lobbies make it difficult to get a seat. The gym is fine but on the small side for the size of the resort and there would often be no treadmills available even at 7am. The resort is huge but the golf buggies and the little train run frequently if you don't want to walk. The service was not the best but overall we had a good holiday and would return if there was a good enough deal.
