This resort is beautiful. I love the scent in the lobby of Iberostar resorts! Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating with an exception or 2. My only downside this a 4 rating, was the shower was difficult to regulate, either too hot or just tepid and trying to communicate to the staff without translators and a smattering of high school Spanish was challenging. The did was plentiful, and good, but not outstanding. The pools are gorgeous with plenty of seating in sun and shade. I would visit this resort again! Punta Cana is paradise!

Check in—We arrived at the hotel 3 hours before check in, so we knew our room would not be ready when we arrived. We arrived at the Selection hotel (main lobby) and was asked by the bellhop what hotel we stated the Coral hotel. We were told to stand by the Coral hotel sign and someone will come and pick us up to take us to check in at the Coral lobby. We waited for about 10 minutes before the golf cart came to retrieve us and our bags. The bellhop, golf cart driver, and check in lady were very nice. When we arrived we waited for another 15 minutes because a family of five was checking in and there was only 1 person to check you in. When it was our turn we were greeted with a pleasant smile and was told our room was not ready, but we can check in, go have lunch, and they will let us know when the room was ready. After we checked in, they kept our bags, and we met our concierge personnel, Alberto who was exceptional throughout our stay! He called for a golf cart and they took us to El Faro, buffet lunch. Food—We went to the lunch buffet (El Faro) when we arrived which included an array of food options including snow crab legs, lobster claws, steaks, salads, fruit, pork chops, salmon, burgers, and lots more. I was pleasantly surprised and excited, because I love seafood. The staff in the restaurant were very welcoming. For dinner, I made my own reservation on the Iberostar app for Brave the steakhouse. Brave was good and my family enjoyed it, but nothing to write home about. The Japanese and Italian restaurants, Alberto arranged for us. The Japanese restaurant, Kabuki was good but definitely not enough food if you don’t eat sushi. The hibachi itself is really a small hibachi bowl with about 4 pieces of chicken , shrimp, and steak with rice. For those of you who likes yum yum sauce—there is none not the salad with ginger dressing. It is a set menu and everyone gets the same dishes. My husband and son don’t eat sushi and the soup and hibachi bowl was not enough. The Italian restaurant, Il Forno Italian Restaurant was the best out of all 3. The food was hot and delicious and the dessert was the best dessert we had all week long. The Gala night at the buffet at the selection was amazing that including grilled lobster tails, chicken, pork, steaks, beef, fresh pizza, salad, desserts galore including different chocolate flavored desserts, and lots more food options. The food that night was excellent. We ate breakfast daily at El Faro, which was pretty much the same each day. I had made to order omelet each day. Lunch was pretty much the same as well. The room service and beach menu is limited and was just okay. The buffet food was always lukewarm and never hot except for the made to order food. I did not try the Mexican restaurant or other restaurants at the sister properties. Room—My room was on the top floor of a building that was located near the pool, beach, and El Faro restaurant. The room itself was basic and nothing spectacular. The maid ser

Great place to spend a week. Great facilities, beautiful grounds, spacious room, prompt services, tasteful foods, outstanding staff, etc. Lots of activities to enjoy for all ages, day and night. Highly recommend the coral level as it gives you access to all restaurants and amenities. Our room was within steps of the beach. Next time in Punta Cana, we'll definitely consider this place to stay !!

You're going to want to read this before booking... Having just returned to the UK from the iberostar Selection Coral Bavaro I have to be honest for what we paid for a family of four (over £7k) it really wasn't worth it. The food for the most part was incredibly bland, especially at the buffets and unless you book all of the A La Carte restaurants you want to visit upon arrival you'll be lucky to get a reservation at those that require it - sadly, this was something we were not made aware of at time of arrival. Over a seven night stay only the Japanese and Greek restaurants offered anything of good quality. Our family two bedroom room was adequate at best. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean however we noticed during our stay that the fridges and snack stations weren't restocked daily which was advertised when booking. The biggest disappointment was the fact that the bed sheets and towels are NOT CHANGED DAILY. We would return to our rooms in the afternoon to find the same used towels and bed sheets had been reused. Again, for the cost of our stay this is not what we expected from a 5 star resort. The private beach was covered in seaweed and it made the area smell terrible. We are well travelled and I have honestly never seen anything quite like it. Of course this is no fault of the hotel but it is definitely something to bare in mind as I have since read multiple reviews citing this as a frequent issue. Now for the biggest 'con' of all... The entertainment staff approached us when we were checking out and asked everyone (including our children 13 and 17) to Google search the hotel from our mobile phones and then leave a 5 star review as well as mentioning the staff by name in the review. Do they make commission for every 'name drop'? Is it a competition between them to see who can get the most? I had read in previous comments during our stay the staff do this regularly to boost ratings so we all declined. This is really poor practice and very misleading to anyone who books here as it currently has a 4.9 out of 5 star rating on Google which is not a true reflection on this resort at all. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Angel was assigned to us on the day of our arrival. He was our Star Prestige representative. The level of attentiveness, communication and kindness he showed us was beyond expectation! Our experience during this week was phenomenal because of Angel…we got to sit back, relax and be present with each other. One of the things we love most about our membership with Iberostar is that we feel like family within minutes of our arrival. It is so nice to have one consistent contact to guide us through our time away from home. Isn’t that what it’s all about? Getting away and not having to worry? Have to give a shout out to Janaira as well! She was behind the bar in Star Prestige by the beach and took amazing care of us! Kept us well “watered”! Definitely in our top 2 for Iberostar locations visited!

We loved from Iberostar Haciebda due to ongoing construction they have there and this is a massive step up. The beach is beautiful with vistas of palm trees in either direction, aqua water, etc. we’ve found the buffet food at El Faro in the Coral area to be a step above most resort buffets. Drink preparation can be somewhat inconsistent but it’s a minor note. Would be very happy to come back.

I’m unsure where all the 5/5 are from. After our stay of 5 days, I could only come up with about a 3. We paid extra to stay in the Coral level. I’ll start with some pros. The resort is beautiful. The grounds and resort are generally well kept. The rooms are nice but could use a deep cleaning and some updates. Most of the staff was very friendly, but there was a slight language issue if you don’t speak Spanish. The language wasn’t a big issue because we made do. We are from the US and I would say there was a very high percentage (over 90%) of people there who were from Spanish speaking countries. We used the spa and that was a very good experience. The shows were good as well. We have a special shoutout to Pueblo. The one person who made sure we felt like we were on vacation. Also, a shoutout to “El” Nino and all the staff at El Faro and Salt and Soul. They all did a wonderful job. Here are some cons. When you check in, you are assigned a so-called concierges who is a con person only there to get you to participant in the “Presentation” (timeshare pitch). Unless you like pressure sales of a timeshare during your vacation you should say no upfront. Either way this person will disappear whether you attend or not. They are not there to help you. What’s very helpful is adding the Iberostar app to your phone. That becomes your true concierge. The AC at times wasn’t cool enough, but we found it was being controlled by some other source other than the in-room thermostat. Complain and your room gets cooler. There was a very limited supply of small towels for some reason. The food was hit or miss. Some restaurants only open on certain days making dining limited. The buffet was very limited. Use the cook to order folks. We did have some decent meals at the Salt and Soul restaurant if you stay in the Coral level. The beach was nice but the seaweed was terrible. You really couldn’t get in the water. The pools were a good alternative. Overall, I wouldn’t say don’t come here but know this is a real review and the cons can be a turn off. I would personally say we will not return. We have stayed at several Iberostar resorts and this one will rank as the lowest one. This stay also have us re-thinking the Iberostar resorts altogether. It just wasn’t the best of stays and there’s too much competition out there.

Great hotel complex, with plenty to do day and night. Something for everyone. Stunning well maintained grounds with a relaxed atmosphere. Rooms Room spacious and clean! Few bits advertised missing but a call to reception and quickly remediated. Bed comfy, and comfy seating area. Mini bar stocked daily and customised with a small tip to cater for needs. Terrace areas relaxing and clean and only a few steps from pool and mobile bar. Maid service daily and rooms always immaculate with some added bed art Food Good choice of places to eat to suffice all dietary tastes! El Faro was a hidden gem! Food of good quality throughout the resort! Coffee shop 24/7 was a bonus! Only complaints was buffet had a lot of flys in the morning time. Bars Great selection of beverages all served with a smile and great hospitality Overall great stay and would return again
