We had a wonderful two-day stay at The Gables. From the moment we arrived, Mary, our host, made us feel so welcome – her warmth and hospitality were truly exceptional. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and felt like a real home away from home.
The highlight of each morning was the home-cooked breakfast – absolutely delicious and prepared with such care. It set the perfect tone for the day ahead.
If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality, The Gables is a perfect choice. We can’t recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning.

I had an amazing stay! Mrs. Whitelaw is so sweet and always ready to help! The room was super clean and very nice for the price. There was a very nice complimentary breakfast as well with fruits, yogurts, various cereals, and more. She also has the sweetest dog and was so happy to see her! Also, felt totally safe as a solo female traveler and was a quick 20-30 min taxi ride to the Edinburgh airport.

I booked in for one night (on the night) at this excellent B&B. From near Edinburgh's International airport, I caught the bus (I think it was the "X18") , heading roughly west, along the Glasgow Road, for the 12 miles to this establishment. Parking available if required. A friendly welcome from my host at about 10pm. Shown to my twin single room upstairs, with Tv, shower, tea making facility, plus a top breakfast to follow....for £70. I'd a sound sleep and the best breakfast in a long time! Thank you "The Gables".

Mary was very welcoming and anything we needed to know or need help with Mary obliged. We had to leave early on departure, but she got up and gave us a good Continental Breakfast.

Mary and her husband were very kind and extremely helpful hosts.
There was ample breakfast available.
There was enough room for 3 adults in our room.

Last minute booking due to being let down by another hotel. Hosts were extremely helpful. Great location and parking available. Room was great and breakfast was fantastic - kept us going until tea time!
